Kimetsu might overtake Hunter x Hunter's lifetime sales in 5 months.
>Hunter x Hunter = 78 million >Kimetsu no Yaiba = 60 million
5 months ago (back in January) it was at 40 million. If we were to make a guess how much it would sell 5 months from now, it could reach 80 million. At that time, the movie would also be released, so it could even make sales past that. That is amazing. Will this signifies the end of HxH's dominance?
Just wait until HxH get a new volume, then you'll be sorry.

20 more weeks or so for the 2020 sales period, it will surpass it easily if it keep up above 1 million a week which it will.

>HxH's dominance Lol of what?
Austin Nelson
>can you tell me what's so great about kimetsu no yaiba? >it sells a lot lol
Adrian Martinez
HxH's dominance comes from the fact that it's been around forever, so everybody knows it and knows how many shoneny things it pioneered, but few people have ever actually read it. That's why it gets a sort of strange respect that, imo, it doesn't really deserve.
Now, as for why KnY is so successful, I don't have a fucking clue. Maybe people just really liked the animation for episode 19.

>"Moshi-moshi, Togashi-da" >"What, Kimetsu No Yaiba is going to overtake HxH's lifetime sales? Alright, release HxH vol.37"
rephrase what you said in a less retarded way esl kun

Sigh. I just wish it could've stayed around longer so it could've competed with the big dogs in total sales. It was fun.

Part of the reason it was so good was that the author didn't draw shit out. I would start hating kimetsu if it went on for a quarter century like a certain other shonen.
David Long
It's actually finished, unlike hxh which never will

Still might be close, iirc vol 35 was the last time it was recorded selling over a million per volume (vol 36 fell off the oricon chart around 880k-890k) and even then it took 18 weeks for it to break the million mark.
Josiah Cooper
Hunter has material for at least more 1 volume anyway

I think it's that it's the only new traditional shonen manga that's anywhere near competent. It's less about stellar quality and more a reflection of its competition, at least within Jump. It didn't have enough time to completely shoot itself in the foot the way My Hero's manga did, managing to maintain focus throughout its run. The anime was fairly well done and told a concise story for its first season. The framework of the kid trying to save his sister is more compelling than Deku or Astra's desire to be the very best that no one ever was. Some of the powers and fights are cool.
Being easily approachable, having a solid, universal hook and sticking the landing goes a long way for a shonen right now.
Robert Parker
36 sold 900k in 1 month, to give some perspective the only ongoing series with better numbers is One Piece. But it's been a while so who knows how 37 will sell. Last time we came off a big hiatus we got those insane vol 34 sales (1m+ in a few weeks)

I'm Give promise myself
Regardless of the manga is so good
But author is lazy as fuck and no responsibility for his work
I'm will never invest in this
Liam Kelly
It's confirmed. KnY > HxH.

Are there anywhere we can buy Japanese manga per chapter (not volume) that accepts non-Jap credit card?
