What makes it stand out from other isekai series?
What makes it stand out from other isekai series?
it's a "parody" despite not being any different from the others
the fact that it didn't disappear up its own ass until volume 7 or so
It has Reen in it.
It's an isekai i'd happily be transported into.
It’s a comedy not a parody
Comfy world with great characters
the shitty art and sexy crimson mage?
That it's funny rather than a self-insert protagonist getting huge harem of wish fulfillment.
Well, I guess the Darkness jokes get old.
Also, Megumin has a super lewd body.
Just found fan-art where they gave Megumin a cute little penis.
Why wouldn't want to suck a cute boy like that?
It doesn't take itself too seriously, it's a comedy isekai, nothing more, prolly had good directing as well, tried to read the LN and didn't hook, manga is terrible.
Darkness jokes do get old but recently they've grown on me more. now Megumin is a legit semen demon would bang.
extremely silly slap-stick comedy
use of sakuga to animate sillyness
meta memes like dressing mc in green giving him a rance vibe
This has been said before, but Konosuba feels like a DnD one-shot you'd play with close friends where everyone brings the most ridiculous characters possible just for shits and giggles and the result is glorious.
>What makes it stand out from other isekai series?
Nothing.
It's isekai.
It's automatically shit.
any justifications you might have only reinforce the idea that it was made by the lowest bidder for the lowest denominator
> T. didn’t even watch it
People that latch onto specific terms will never watch anything but..... other things with specific terms they were told was good.
They watch stuff with Jap audio and tell everyone it is better.
They like to wait months for a series to air instead of watching a BD/stream it over a week.
They hate on anything that gets to the top XXX of their chosen rating site.
It’s funny ^_^
its popularity
Doesn't take itself seriously. Focus on comedy through the use of isekai tropes. Main character has personality.
I can think of four reasons.
they make funny faces
>It doesnt have omnipowerful (edgy) MC
>It is a comedy
>It is actually funny comedy
>Each character in the cast is more detailed and interesting than any most complex character in any generic isekai trash
>The world isnt revolving around RPG elements that are completely unbalanced (especially when MC gets like 999+ different skills within the story), but originally these RPG elements were supposed to serve purpose of actually balancing things out (typical isekai problem)
>Animated adaptation is actually quality work
Also literally doesn't copy paste insane amounts of the same tropes as every isekai ever.
>Doesn't take itself too seriously.
>Girls aren't total moeblobs
>OP/EDs are pretty good
You can laugh at the main cast. Instead of cringing at them always getting everything their way.
It was the first Isekai to poignantly explore the ridiculousness of the isekai in a comedic way. Also coincidentally Re:Zero came out that very same year and was the first Isekai to poignantly explore the ridiculousness of Isekai in a serious way. The genre should have naturally died after that, but instead it inspired hack LN writers to make even more isekai except now all having the gimmick of being self-aware.
what made konosuba good
- VA acting
- timing
re:zero is garbage, on its own, and in comparison to kinosuba anyways.
I cannot reconcile the fucking lording konosuba gets on Zig Forums
It gets a free pass on all it's faults because it's a comedy, please somebody kill me
its funny. seethe
