Is HVAC a based trade? I hear white people work in it and it pays better than a master's degree and you can become journeyman in only 5 years
Is HVAC a based trade...
fuck yeah, from what i understand its easier work than construction too. if i could go back to being in HS, I'd skip college and apprentice as either an electrician or HVAC tech.
t. has Master's in environmental science
Plenty of black HVAC technicians I don’t who told you it’s only white. Depending on the company that racism shit won’t fly. You can make 100k+ depending where you work or if you start your own business
this is only state, cities usually have their own. it can be a pain in the neck and not work that well. plus all of your bosses will be douchebag accountants who don't understand why maintenance has to be done
you can make 100k+ if you're black because you also count as a diversity hire
Just be an osha inspector and make more
I did it for years.made $40-50 an hour once I learned my shit
I'm a journeyman electrician. Pretty comfy. A little mix of all the races desu.
>Depending on the company that racism shit won’t fly
Well that's better than the corporate world where racism is encouraged as long as it's against whites.
You work on your hands and knees a lot in this trade. Im not hvac but i know some hvac guys. Just look around at where a/c units and heaters are. Usually on floor, in corner or up high. Under house etc. Plus you get covered in freon and fridge coolants kek. Thats why it pays well. Not trying to rain on any parades but just know what your getting in to. Or you realize after 10 years you hate it but have no way out cuz your mortgaged and have children
godamn usa is so racist its unreal
because our government taxes effectively only white males and gives it all to minorities and women, and every day were told were the bad guys. if our government wasn't racist against us we wouldn't be racist.
>make more
is this what tradies believe?
t.
How do you get into HVAC without a license?
t. Masshole
any other suggestions then for a trade that wont age you as much?
How much is affirmative action factored into hiring in trades? Unions?
I checked NY unions and they all say shit like "we get state benefits if we hire minorities blah blah." It's not fair.
fren, that is why we bought LINK.
>never selling
its not just a meme. Think about it, if we never sell they can only tax our staking gains. Imagine $81k at the end of 2026 is real (it is), we will each be sitting on BILLIONS and they can't do a fucking thing
I used to do HVAC now I got into HDPE pipe fusion. Only a few thousand people in the country do it but extremely necessary. Unlimited overtime, travel the country, per diem, week off every month. Making 75k a year
..but you have to pay taxes in the end anyways when you cash out/use it (???)
>75k
What state? In more expensive states 75k is poverty tier
Ga. But like I said it's traveling work. I live in a hotel, drive a company truck have little to no expenses on the road working
I wanna do this and shag hotel whores. Thats the life i want, but im a pussy and my body cant do big boy man work
>in the end
there is no end. think long term. multi-generational wealth.
you want to do your best to keep your original stack as intact as possible
hotel whores kind of suck too
literally 100% of the time they come in, let you hand them the money, and say something like "oh that's just for my company, sex is extra"
In vegas I literally ripped open a whore's gucci bag to take my money back and when she tried calling her pimp I dialed the police and put them on speaker and started talking about "a crazy asian chick who followed me to my room and is threatening to have her boyfriend assault me"
Yes op, my friend became a millionaire through starting his own hvac and plumbing business
not during global cooling bro
I'm a carpenter that works closely with HVAC guys. Seems like a good trade to get into. I make $63/hr as a carpenter in SF bay area
Omg thats insane lol
Hard work tho i hear
I want a career where I am invited into peoples house to fix something that possibly fuck them
No.
Great cross post, thanks
I've been in HVAC for 18 years now. The big money is in commercial/industrial HVAC. It is a well paying trade, and it is hard work. You absolutely need to know what you're doing, because you can get hurt real quick. I'm a project manager now, so I make over $100k salary, but my highest grossing year was $125k working as a technician (obscene amount of overtime). Get in with a union too if possible, their trade schools are usually free, but they are very strict and will throw you out if you fuck up. The more you know about various types of equipment, the more employable you are going to be. And there are all races in HVAC, which shouldn't matter, but whatever.
