The first half sets up something you think might be interesting
and then the last half goes so insanely fucking stupid it invalidates the entire show

I'd say it's worth watching. If you like mech, you're kindof starved for choice unless you like really old shows, anyway.

I actually adore the first 15 episodes. They have their problems, but it's a fun, endearing, heart-wrenching show. I don't think i've been as invested in a show since. It's densely and elegantly written, and there's a lot to be read in to. It all comes together in a beautiful climax and finale.

The show gets progressively shittier from there, i don't mind 16 and 17, but even that's contingent upon being invested in a ship that not a lot of people liked, and there's some decent stuff set up, but it just keeps getting shittier until the end, where it jumps every shark and goes full retard.

It's worth watching, i think. It hits all the right emotional beats and sets up some genuinely great character-driven conflict. Just don't go in expecting a good ending. I'd actually recommend not watching past 15 unless you care about the baby arc.

Just pretend that it's a 16 episode anime.

as long as you don't expect anything but a sappy romance story, you won't have anything to be mad about. Treat it like your typical highschool romance bullshit, except instead of going to class, they fight weirdass monsters using giant robots. If you're looking for something more, this is the wrong weebshit and you should consider rewatching TTGL (if aryan and looking for whitepills) or NGE (if you're a kike lover or just a blackpilled cuck).

Unfortunately, it's just really bad, but not the kind where you'll find it too amusing like SAO.

It's decent for some episodes in the first half, the final third gets massively worse and worse though until it feels like a completely amateur joke and it's hard to believe it's serious.

I’ve routinely seen it get recommended in newfag circles and it’s one of the few Mecha that are on Netflix and stuff like that, so it definitely isn’t “forgotten” in western circles at least.

honestly this show is so genuinely fucking horrible. it feels like it was written by three different parties and none of them talked to each other. it strings you along with dumb mysteries that have nothing but unsatisfying, nonsensical reveals. all the characters are horrible. the last four episodes come out of nowhere and introduces 13 episodes of lore in 15 minutes and runs with it, going full trainwreck (the only good part)

if you have the option to watch gunbuster and diebuster, there is no reason to watch this. you could also watch star driver and get a better experience.

franxx is the most putrid, disappointing, boring thing i've watched in years and i hope it stays that way.
