I think I gave it a fair run, I got deep in the Skypiea arc but I just stopped caring so had to drop it.
The majority of the arcs have the same structure where Luffy goes to a new town or island, beats up the local villain and moves on. A couple of arcs did this differently and were the better ones but it just wasn't enough, repetitive stop-starts kept killing momentum before it could build up.
Due to the good resonance on Zig Forums, I was expecting something as similar to Hunter X Hunter where it switches the genre and tone in each arc. But sadly, it never happened. Not in the first 260 chapters anyway and everything blurs together, the exception being the Alabastor arc which had a different setting, structure and the only intimidating villain at that point in the story.
The characters have cool designs (though, the proportions are fucked sometimes) but they were way too overpowered and got out of scuffles far too easily without any losses. I don't think a single named character died so it was hard to feel any tension during fight scenes because I knew everything would turn out just fine.
For me One Piece is a manga that had a promising setting and premise but it never gets fully capitalised on. A shame because it's loved by so many others, I think it could have been much better if the mangaka didn't drag the story out so much and took more risks in his story telling rather than taking the safe options.
It really can't be considered an anime as anime try to tell a story and Wan Piss has no story. Wan Piss with its repetitive formula and bland characters is an embarrassment to anime and manga and the worst thing to come out of Japan since HxH.
1# Wan Piss had a story and plot in East Blue but drops this very quickly and hasn't given the story plot development since the story's beginning. 2# A myriad of fillers that are incredibly boring and nonsensical that only manage to alienate the few intelligent fans that haven't dropped Wan Piss by now. 3# Horrible art in both manga and anime that makes me want to throw up. Never have I seen an anime or manga have such atrocious art. 4# Painful voice acting for the anime. Luffys effeminate and high pitched voice is unbearable and he is the main character. All other characters have similarly horrifying voices that antagonize the viewers' eardrums. 5# Wan Piss is a disgrace to the manly genre that once was Pirates as there is nothing pirate-esque about Wan Piss and no sense of danger is ever felt as the characters have plot armor which confuses intelligent readers and leaves them at odds with the series. 6# Oda has now been milking his uneducated and simple minded fanbase for all they are worth as Wan Piss now has 1000 chapters and the story has still not gone anywhere. 7# Wan Piss attracts the worst kind of people which is evident by the incredibly obnoxious fanbase of underageb& faggots on Zig Forums that shill their shitty series with 15+ threads each day. Once any discussion about Wan Piss' many shortcomings starts Pissdrinkers are quick to run away, pretend to ignore any criticism, call it bait, act like the juvenile faggots they are, lack the ability to read and understand the criticism or deflect criticism by saying that Wan Piss sells well which is not an argument. Look out for these talking points the next time you see a Pissfaggot write a 100 character defense on Wan Piss against a 2000 character critique on Wan Piss.

Naruto has better and more trimmed down in a good way story overall.
One Piece is like that 30 year old sitcom where shit goes and goes and goes on and on, and nothing actually changes.

If it was consistent it would be.

One Piece is a gateway anime and manga of the worst kind. It’s a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn’t very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and FRIENDSHIP. The normal member can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the Devil Fruits, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole Pirate faggotry and everything about the One Piece world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on adventure, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
One Piece is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to mankind, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every member to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no One Piece threads ever encourage the retards to show their faces here.

You can't compare a masterpiece such as Hunter x Hunter to a generic and superficial manga such as wan piss which is aimed at kids.

One Piece is slowly paced for a reason. It Allows you to get to know the stories of the one piece crew on a deep emotional level, watching the straw hat crew come together over time is a wonderful experience, and you're not even halfway through it man. I'd say give it a chance if if you ask me.
I personally love it, but I know A lot of people on here and in different forums don't like this about one piece, and that's most likely because a lot of people have short attention spans and can't sit and enjoy the show. One Piece is different, because of the fact that came from a different era (especially the pre timeskip era).
As for the formula, I can understand. It can get tiring to watch Luffy beat up everybody and win all the time. But that's kind of the magic of the show. One piece is really good at showing you can do just about anything with your life, and how creative you can get with your ideas and their development. Oda is a creative genius. The amount of cool powers from the devil fruits for example, or the cartoonish character designs which defy the standards of modern anime of it's time and even now, even if it's a large brand of its own now. Not to mention the use of the sailing and navigation element of the show where they are always traveling to someplace new. It's exciting see what will happen on their next Adventure when they go to the next island.
HxH isn't even close to being better. you're funny

Do you guys never get tired of doing this? Like, on both sides? It's almost impressive, these threads get made daily and both the OP and the answers are pretty much a copypaste each and every time.
Samuel Jones
SAO is unironically better and more enjoyable.

Sword art online is manufactured garbage. It's generic, so there's little room for emotional investment. you can't say the same thing about one piece. Even if it's become a brand in today's day, it's a novel work of art. Say what you want about one piece post time skip, but one piece before the time skip was top quality for it's time. I should know since I watched every single episode of the anime, to to bottom.
Naruto and Bleach having an ending doesn't make them automatically better like how people think HxH sparingly getting chapters makes it magically bad. Those two are still utter dogshit stories with horrible characters from beginning to end. They might've crossed the finish line, sure, but they're competing in the Special Olympics.
Don't you get tired of posting same pasta every day?
Christopher Bell
Sword Art has a story that genuinely keeps the watchers engaged. One piece is just needlessly stretched out and should have been massively trimmed down. One piece is also only impressive to people that havent read books or indulged themselves in other forms of media.

It's ok to drop it, but at least don't parrot this repetitive shitpost, it's pretty ironic considering the complaint, and honestly, it just boils doen to "every arc has a villain, that's repetitive", which is retarded.
Jayden Richardson
If it ain't broke don't fix it. The One Piece formula is gold in the same way Dragon Quest is to JRPGs. Not everything needs to be some overly ambitious subversion of expectations or playing with tropes only to end up falling flat on your face down the line like One Punch Man and Konosuba. Look at the absolute state of Final Fantasy when they tried to change up their formula for every game.
Gabriel Mitchell
I've read about a thousand books and One Piece is honestly one of the greatest fantasies ever written. The more books you read and the more fiction you consume , the more you'll come to appreciate it.
Oliver Hughes
>Arc starts >There's a helpless woman that needs help >He decide to help her freeing her island from the bad guy >He loses >Something happen that requires to beat the villain as quick as possible or the island is gonna be destroyed >Luffy beats the villain right before the timer ends >Just resumed the Alabasta, Skypea, Enies Lobby, Fishman Island, Dressrosa arcs
Brandon Johnson
Most arcs don't follow this. It's also very reductive.
Colton Perez
Name all arcs where you think this happens. Ill wait.
Owen Ross
>I've read about a thousand books lmao >The more books you fiction you consume the more you appreciate it It should be the exact opposite if you're intelligent. Fiction will start to feel eerily similar as you realize similarities in story and character development. And if you genuinely believe OneP to be that great, you're delusional.
John Turner
Why are there so many one piece thread every single day? Not even naruto. Did one piece suddenly get more famous or something?
Eli Hernandez
>Why are there so many one piece thread every single day? It's either Optards blatantly shilling their series or Optards falseflagging as OP hate threads so that anons defend One piece. Neither tactic works because most anons hate one piece but they won't stop trying.
Zachary Long
Those are a lot of words for the daily HunterxHunter shitpost
