In case our readers didn't know, Takarazuka Revue is japanese musical theatre where all roles are played by women. Their repertoire has only a handful of male roles, so they are highly contested and the selection as to whether a particular actress plays male or female role is permanent. Height plays a big role is the selection.
How far into the past would you go? Keep in mind, universal education is a relatively new thing.
