I can’t do it... I’ve tried watching it multiple times and I just can’t do it.
What do people see in this anime? It’s not "bad" but it’s honestly really overhyped/overrated and boring
Why?
I got past episode 4
It doesn't really get much better. Also the part where changing the mom's diet ends up changing the trap's gender was so stupid that it left a bad taste in my mouth for the remainder of the show.
Did you at least watch far enough to the part where actual time travel starts happening? Because the beginning is admittedly kind of boring the first time you watch it, but becomes way more interesting upon rewatches.
>getting meme'd into watching this
it's very overhyped. It's a fun of slice of life romantic sci fi anime and its sci-fi elements are a fun mystery element. I don't particularly like the side characters all that much or find the thrilling
I love the anime but the VN is truly special.
Steins Gate is better than madoka by miles.
>What do people see in this anime
The way it's gets you emotionally attached to it's characters, it's brilliant direction, it's tightly wrapped and satisfying narrative structure. If you prefer an anime where characters die on the first episode then I understand some people have low attention spans.
>boring
People who can't get through the first half are retarded and don't understand what emotional investment is. Can't recognize good directing when they see it
You have to sit through the whole thing to judge it critically.
Id rather have uncontrollable diarrhea than sit through something like Madoka ever again
What episode did you stop on
Don't worry OP, I've tried too but there's nothing remarkable about it at all. It's a total waste of time
Also there was this nerdy cringe inducing guy in my uni study group, he told us all to call him Okabe. He acted weird and cringey all the time for no reason, I guess he fancied himself a super genius or something. He ended up dropping out and it was only a while later when I tried watching this shitty show did I connect the dots and realize who he was trying to larp as.
I've met similar people in college too. It's so weird to me how in high school nobody really talked about their anime or manga interests, but in college most of them were unfiltered, vocal autists about it.
I know right. I fucking hate anime and almost everyone who likes anime.
The series I'm not embarrassed to admit I've watched i can count on one hand
>I hate anime
>Can count on one hand the amount I've watched
Imagine my shock, S;G hater is a fucking normalfag.
The characters are just generic one-note anime meme tropes though. The idea of focusing on character development in the first half is fine, but it's a problem when there is no character development in the character development part
I'm curious, what series can you admit you've watched?
Uh oh, Steins;Gate somehow went over this user's head.
I dropped it after 2 episodes, and came back to it like a year after, and it's definitely in my top 10.
>generic one-note anime meme tropes
>no character development in the character development
You're wrong, learning the true reason for Okabes chuunibyou facade, watching him crumble to pieces until he's left without a shred of hope or pride, and watching him learn to apply that act in a more empowering and healthy way was plenty of character development.
>Steins Gate
>No character development
Kek, In what wordline?
>Cropped out Daru
Kek
Berserk, LoTGH, Evangelion, Escaflowne, Tatami Galaxy, and Yuru camp
>ywn have a Kurisu gf
>What do people see in this anime
This may just be me, but it was the sheer hopelessness and despair of it all and watching Okabe overcome it and find a way out. It was unironically inspiring in a way.
you didn't watch the second half
S;G is literally custom-made for the normalfags incapable of critical thinking to believe it's a masterpiece.
>Very good production values.
>Meme-ready humor designed to be mindlessly shouted out of context. I am mad scientisto, tuturu and other shit that is a guaranteed success with idiots.
>"Not set in high school" and gritty aesthetic that distracts retards from realizing it's a cliched as fuck otaku-pandering date-sim.
>Zero-dimensional wikipedia-description-of-an-anime-cliche “characters” that impress people who’ve never seen anime before.
>"le sci-fi" that only consists of a bunch of buzzwords and lets a normalfag pretend they are very smart for consuming such content. At the same time, completely devoid of any actual substance that will make retards' head hurt and scare them away.
>Soapy melodramatic bullshit that checks the "it has FEELS so it's a masterpiece" checkbox in the NPC's operating systems.
Fucking based.
The second half is so much better than the first half. You really have to push through it and really give it a chance.
>Look mom, I posted my non argument meme pasta again!
Poor Kurisu, getting sullied like this
Nobody is ever impressed with this, your brain operates entirely on memes alone and your obsessed with what other people think about you.
