Good. Leave it to those of us who enjoy it and go back to your trash.

It turns out that when you have the most pretentious source material, the most pretentious studio and the most pretentious director you get the worlds' most pretentious show.

And you never will.

>straight forward show that explains every single aspect of itself through monologues
>pretentious

They're all actually robots which is why it makes a camera sound when they blink. I didn't get it the first time either

There’s nothing to “get”

This user gets it. Either you enjoy it or not, simple as that.

Nothing is actually taking place it's just araragi and hanekawa's mind. They're all chuni's. shinobu is just araragi's best friend who goes to school with hachikuji, kiss-shot is shinobus older sister and plays along with shinobus friends to satisfy her, senjougahara likes araragi so she plays along with him, hachikuji is just being a little girl, kanbaru likes senjougahara, plays along and starts to enjoy playing pretends for herself, nadeko is just trying to please araragi, most of the adults are also humoring his fantasies, the fire sisters are just playing with their big brother too they probably see it as a harmless playtime, ononoki goes to the same school as the fire sisters and is a chuni by herself and yozuru was previously humoring her and now does it for the band of chuni's, ogi simply doesn't exist and is just a figment of araragi's imagination, sodachi was araragi's playmate in middle school but grew out of it and came to disdain araragi but turns a new leaf after seeing them play and is reminded how much fun it is to play pretend with her old friend

I don't think I'm missing anything but that's the gist of the show, OP

Because you're a plotfag.

Figured it out, did ya?

Let's face it most of the stories are things kids would play
>going back in time
>pretending to be a vampire
>2 sisters playing cops and robbers
>a nervous little girl who gets "lost" and plays "map" to get home
>a girl pretending to be a doll after watching rozen maiden
Seems like things kids would do

Kanbaru best girl.

local teenage hot boy with a hero boner that could make shirou faint busts ghosts that are deeply connected to girls insecurities and issues.

and where do the scenes of Araragi molesting his sisters fit in?

All part of the game they play except due to their immaturity they adapt it to their story.

Whole show takes place in a psych ward, some of the main girls are other patients, some are nurses, some are just schizophrenic hallucinations. Its all just happening in araragis head.
But thats just a theory

An actual grounded theory is that the cat girl is also a vampire but has repressed that aspect of herself.

It's not that deep, and the recent arcs have been quite easy to follow.

Bingo.
They fit in the fap folder.

pretentious and straight forward are not mutually exclusive

did you remember to pause to read the text flashes?

I'd love to see your explaination for Crab and Monkey's arcs

nope it is stupid

A show can be pretentious and good at the same time. It’s not because it tries to be better than itself that it means it’s bad.

I feel like it's not worth defending it. People are sucked in immediately by the art, animation and story, or they're hopeless.

Personally I did not immediately like bake, it was too much of a change compared to other shows I watched ( be it in genre or style ). I think I got sucked in at second season, then the rest was smooth sailing. Upon rewatch though I liked a lot more the first parts since I got used to that style.

>Crab: Got traumatized by molestation. Got over her trauma thanks to MC. Now dating MC
>Cat: Unloved child. Will likely never recover.
>Monkey: Had an inferiority complex. Got over it on her own.
>Snake: parody of the "moe-blob". Stopped being a "moe-blob" by actually becoming an character.
>Snail: she is a ghost, there is no getting over being a ghost, there is no recovery for her. She is literary just enjoying her interactions with MC until she passes on to the next world.

But you already figured out this much. Any deeper discussion of the characters is going to take the entire afternoon.

It will lead to that user saying that psychology does not exist.

I agree with both of these. I took me a bit but the presentation eventually won me over. Any rewatches are just further confirmation of how insanely underrated and based this show is. Let's keep it that way!

Ok fair enough. I was pretty immediately blown away by the lines, the colors, the random change ups, Tsubasa's panties.... I think I had decided it was a favorite by the time he "introduced" Hitagi to Shinobu.

/thread

I could never get into it. The "camera" jumps just completely take me out of the immersion.

and . . . filtered
don't bother watching any great European art films from the past 120 years, stick to your mainstream shit user, it's more immersive!
