Never since Shinji Ikari has there been a character been so hated for reminding the audience of themselves, only he's actually a kindhearted, brave, and hardworking person. Izuku Midoriya exposes what awful people a lot of anime fans are in spite of all their fantasies of being the best people around gone "unappreciated" by others.
Face it, you hate Deku because you'll never be as man as he is.
I only enjoyed S1 and don't care for the rest of the series but I unironically like Izuku. I don't know if he becomes insufferable later or something, but from what I've seen, he's not that bad, quite endearing even. Also Shinji is the best male anime character ever written and people who don't like him are either normalfag plebeians who fell for the get in le robot memes or pathetic people who hate that they relate to him.

He said he didn't know why he made him so boring in that interview he did with Kubo.

I hate Deku because he's shit

Deku is a good boy who loves his Kacchan. And there's nothing wrong with loving your Kacchan.
No, I hate Deku because he has the strongest quirk on the planet, and he's still too much of a pussy to be assertive in just about ANY aspect of his life that isn't directly tied to being a hero. He's a broken individual with severe personality issues due to the bullying he received when growing up, and a horrible case of Stockholm Syndrome in association with the most prominent of his bullies.
He's got flaws... but none of them make him an interesting character.
I dont understand how people think Shinji is a unlikeable crybaby, when poor dude got all of the reason to cry and to be depress. Same goes for pretty much the main cast of Evangelion.
Deku is literally mentally, socially and spiritually cucked. It's not some reflection BS. It's the type of disgust you feel for a fucking insect.

>OP posts a copypasta >anons with deku on their heads come to shit on the character >dekeks come to defend their self-insert's honor Why does Midoriya generate so much seething from Zig Forums?

I hate him because his design is stupid, his eyes are too big and he cries too much

I think it's just Zig Forums contrariansim.

Apparently Deku hits the perfect spot between two halves of the shounen fanbase. Deku, both as a character and as a plot device, is tailored to be a self insert. One half of the audience manages to insert as him and thus can fantasize about greatness via proxy. It's the same concept as people saying that if they really tried hard they would be able to achieve much more than they actually do. The problem is that the other half can somewhat relate to Deku but can't manage to self insert because his flaws disgusts them (either because they dislike them or it hits too close to home and makes them upset). Deku navigates the limit between the two and is thus very controversial.
