This was the plot of Shin no Nakama ja Nai, but it was even worse there. Everyone agreed that the MC was the one keeping shit together, except for the one party member who was an asshole, who had an ulterior motive of wanting to marry the party leader (MC's imouto), and who was an all-around incompetent moron and horrible judge of character.
