Patlabor.
80+ episodes of Urusei Yatsura.
Urusei yatsura 2.

Urusei movie 2 > Patlabor 2 >>>>> GitS > GitS 2 > Urusei series >>> Tenshi no Trashmago

I like Sky Crawlers a lot

That's usually how it works.

Tenshi is the only good one

Kill yourself

Patlabor TV series is one of my favorite shows of all time

>makes one good anime
>Ghost in the Shell

Has actually some messages to take from instead of some pseudo bs like GitS. But it takes an educated viewer to understand that

>But it takes an educated viewer to understand that
Kek, this is what it wants you to belive, faggot. Oshii himself mentioned in an interview once that even himself can't really understand the overall purpose of his movie and just randomly put his inner thoughts to made something.

You're obviousy not that edcated it seems

He has made multiple good works, but even one good movie is worth more than an infinite amout of mediocre tv anime.

All you need is 1 good work to be recognized.

At least he’s not a one hit wonder like Anno.

Holy based
I've only seen the early days OVA and absolutely love it; can't wait to watch the tv series

No love for Dallos? It's painfully obvious that it was going to be a TV show but it's one of the very few animes that make terrorism right.

Tenshi no Tamago is an amazing movie

Anno is a zero hit wonder.

It's unfortunate that it's shit. I had high hopes.

Ghost in the Shell is just a case of "the source was so good, it was impossible to ruin even with all the pretentious pseudo-philosophical wank he inserted." Literally any director could've done the same job.

Still a better terrorism portrayal than Penguindrum or Terror in Resonance. Maybe because Oshii participated on radical leftist groups

IDK, I didn't single out treatment of terrorism in particular. Maybe it's done right and it's the rest of the story that's so incoherent that everything else drowns in it. Left me with nothing, really. Not a single memorable thing.

The story shows how dumb kids get radicalized and lose their innocence. I read a lot of terrorist reports because my country suffered from terrorist warfare and it's very similar. The scene with the dad going back to work like nothing happened and embracing the fact he was a bugman but proud of it give me feels. For some reason I think it's like Oshii and his generation making amend with their parents

What the fuck are you talking about, the source is terrible

Huh, interesting. Maybe worth a rewatch. Where are you from by the way? With how things are worldwide the history of places like that has become very relevant.

anno made eva, gunbuster and karekano, user
all of those are super good

Isn't he also responsible for AppleSeed? Absolute garbage.

Most big creators are pretty much known by one big hit, look at Oda.

Not everyone is a One Hit Wonder, look at Yoshitoshi ABe. Pretty much everything he's touched is amazing (except for that one alien comedy perhaps)
