Maybe in that time Anno can fix a few fuckups before release.

>implying its not an excuse to delay it some more

I guess we wait more.

Hopefully the film will be the first good rebuild and be worth the wait

It's going to suck, right?

yeah

I'd be honestly surprised if they were still working on it. Though they probably should. 3.0 at times looked embarrassingly lazy for a movie, and I'm not even talking about the CGI.

The first Rebuild was good though.

I keep forgetting this exists

But why would you ever watch it over the original episodes it covers

If they're still working on anything, it will probably just be animation touch ups. the voice actors finished voicing it in Jan/Feb.

Hopefully the subs aren't terrible

Like all the rebuilds

who even watches the rebuilds? who finished eva and wanted more?

yep

normfags

fuck it
they're going to add translator notes
it's gonna be 2007 all over again

Because it’s same but different. Sounds dumb as hell but its interesting to see how events played out if Shinji had more self confidence and Rei was less of a doll. Shame how in the next movies they went back on that and their characters regressed.

That's the main problem, the first two rebuilds are just the show's plot but with more generic storytelling. The third one was a mess, but it somehow felt more in the shows' style than the other two.

what's the point of these movies?

Anno's medications fund

Wait, there is more after the end of evangelion?

none of it is good

>after the end of evangelion
No. inb4 muh timeloops It's "reimagined" events of the original show. It's the same story except when it goes off the rails, hard.

Yes, it's the official sequel.

i'd be happy if it never came out desu

More generic storytelling? It still feels more like Eva then a standard “teen gets out in the cockpit of a giant robot” mecha story. Maybe if they had followed more from 1.0 and just turned up the super robot elements a bit we might have gotten a Shinji similar to what we get in SRW.

Of course, the actual correct answer is “they shouldn’t have made the rebuilds in the first place” but everything needs a remake or a sequel or in this case both. Original Eva holds up really well especially in today’s joke of a modern world.

the eva's feel so lightweight in the rebuilds, it feels more super robots than anything

Having shinji act likes he acts in SRW defeats the purpose of Eva
