Manga is the last untouched form of media on planet Earth and the last bastion of true creativity

Mangaka can express their stories without any political limitations. Manga surpasses anime, film and video game industries in delivering an author's true intent with minimal to no censorship whatsoever. There's no Sony California telling mangaka not to draw characters too sensually, or social justice media blogs like Kotaku or Polygon influencing mangaka to write about sensationalist topics forcibly, or to neuter the author's intent of a story that may be offensive to certain people but appeals to others.

It's all I ever consume anymore.

Writing and I'd argue music have more freedom of expression, but as far as visual narrative art is concerned, manga is probably the easiest to consume with the least amount of taboos

>untouched
Japanese manga has been English translated for English speaking audience. It's only a matter of time before the trannies are out there cancelling random Japanese author on Twiter because there are not enough Niggers and gay depictions.

Fuck off back to your safe space Zig Forumsfags.

But that's complete and utter bullshit. Editorial staff has enormous control over manga plots. You must be completely clueless to think that most mangaka have creative freedom.

Unless you read only doujinshi and pixiv manga you're reading stuff that's just as neutered and designed by committee as all western media, it's just designed with different sensibilities in mind. The things that are censored and not allowed in manga you don't even realize because you're so ignorant.

What a gay thread, I'm glad my life isn't so empty

Animefags already triggered by sheer facts, nice

Yes there are, you stupid weaboo. They're in japanese, and no one cares enough about them to bring them over, so it just fuels your bias. And plenty of the mainstream stuff gets censored in Japan anyway. Soccer moms, overprotective/projecting men, and sensitive people are eternal and international.

Still more creative freedom than everywhere else, even with an editor guiding you and giving you tips.

>music has freedom of expression
Sure, but if you want your stuff to sell your music needs to be trash. Good music doesn't sell, unless it's old.
Ever heard of "editors"? If editors don't want an author to do something, they aren't allowed to do it. Even bigshots like Togashi and Araki were held down by editors at some point.

Teenage girls have complete creative freedom writing about gay sex online but they mostly don't make money of it.

Creativity is only limited by resource. You want untouched creativity? Try Archive of Our Own, Webtoon Challenge, Twitter, Instagram, or anywhere else where the artists are motivated by exposure first

I've heard of many cases where an author was able to convince his editor to get more creative freedom, even mainstream ones. On the other hand, it's far easier to convince just one person than entire committee and multiple staff members like it'd be the case if you're making an anime.

>creativity
Everything manga ever did was rip off older Western comics. There's no such thing as an original concept that came from manga. But of course braindead weebs won't know this.

Ah yes, the corporate hellhole where mangaka live in constant fear of the axe and series are designed to go on forever is the bastion of creativity. Op, have you by any chance heard of these things called books?

>the corporate hellhole where mangaka live in constant fear of the axe and series are designed to go on forever is the bastion of creativity
Only the bad ones

Go back to your cancerous containment board, capeshitter.

>Still more creative freedom than everywhere else
Eroges have more creative freedom than you manga. There is no manga story on pair with Muramasa or Subahibi or Dies Irae. Or even fucking Umineko. Even nukige has more things to say than your shitty haremshit manga because they put sex scenes, problematic jokes and shit.

Capeshit is literally the direct inspiration for most of your manga. And concepts done in manga have already been done by Western comics beforehand, cope more.

>what are editors
Most manga already fall within the social justice narrative without even needing some corporate moderation, because believe it or not, social justice is seen as a good thing universally.

As opposed to reading the original language, obviously.

>OP is so brain poisoned from the internet he thinks manga, anime, film and vidya are the only forms of media. Has literally forgotten what a book is.
impressive

Read past the teen demographic.

>It's all I ever consume anymore.
no wonder you're braindead

Oh you mean "mature" seinen manga for matures? Melodramas, fujoshit and other discount doramas for housewives trying hard to look mature? Or what, blast from the past like "2001 Nights" that was made during golden age of SF genre across the world? And now has zero audience and unprofitable?

>so up your own ass that you don't realize that OP was only talking about entertainment medium

maybe true but the American publishing industry is completely obsessed with IDpol

>books cannot be entertaining

>reading
>entertaining
Go back to Zig Forums

Let's not forget that manga is medium where you can't even tell full story instantly like with most books. Your manga can be published for five years or ten years or even more. Like soap opera

Once Hollywood entered videogames and comics everything went downhill. They are looking at manga now as their next target.

>what is self-publishing
why do you go out of your way to read/watch shit you disagree with and know you'll hate?

And at any point of story your series can be cancelled because of low ratings. Nice freedom

>>/lit/

>repeat same shit several to dozens of times to fill in the time
>''''''music''''''
Retard.

Hopefully there is not an "Art council" that decides if a work is "degenerate" or not and thus must or must be not fired either.
But meh whatever

Your "muh editor" point gets invalid once you realize that web comcis and self-published series are a thing as well. And like some another user itt mentioned, convincing a single person is still less of an obstacle than trying to convince an entire committee

>anime, manga cannot be valuable cause muh secret club
Kill yourself.

>self-published series
Name me 30 self-published series that have any merit of being self-published series.

>Mangaka can express their stories without any political limitations
Show me a single manga that's critical of the Japanese emperor.

Yes, they're all allowed to include sex.

Also with self publishing you can get away with writing your chuuni fantasies unrestricted and somehow get an audience for it.

Can you name manga written by Hitler fan? Who show respect to Hitler and his ideas?

hadashi no gen

just self-publish on a blog or something, faggot

I'd argue that Japanese editors let their writers have more creative freedom than their western counterparts

>on a blog or something,
And how are you going to make money? Drawing 24/7 for free?

do you think publishing your own book is cheap?
