Sage of Tanya the Evil

Is this the most underrated anime of all time? I just ordered all the light novels, and im completely blown away with each scene. Animation, style, transitions, development are all S-Tier. Why has no one ever recommended it to me?

Underrated by nu/a/ who only watches what MAL normalfags have on their top 10. Literally can't prove me wrong.

S-Tier? I think the supporting cast is too weak for that.

nah
the entire perspective is so fresh, the world building is enhanced with each word, because the main character is building the world. supporting cast isn't necessary when you have Count of Monte Christo level character

>Why has no one ever recommended it to me?
Not everyone is a Zig Forumstard who watches garbage isekai anime

2/10 never reply again

Remember dropping it by fourth ep

kill yourself tourist

>underrated
I hate this, why do people overuse this word?

>saying underrated is overrated

overuse is a pretty underrated word.

>all right troops

Zig Forums has threads on it that reach bump limit like every week. You're just a newfag

I read a thread on r/anime a couple of days ago on exactly this topic!

>Tanya the Evil
Not even the real title, just another example of localisation gone wrong.

>Not even the real title,
Not the original title, but it has now been embraced by the Nips.

> garbage isekai
Wait, it's an Isekai?!

Been recommended a million times, but I have to agree.
- The best we ever got from this isekai craze.
- Concept sounds stupid, but ends up somehow feeling fresh.
- Surprisingly well directed.
- Bonus pandering if you're into Zig Forums shit. Mileage may wary.

Enjoying the manga adaptation by Chika Tojo as well. It's a bit different. Worth checking out.

is the manga a good adaptation of the novels?

Its good but it suffers from a lack of good supporting characters. You have duck vs god. duck's assistant, mary and the mad science man. Besides them everyone else is forgettable and the soldiers are all totally interchangeable.

Get the fuck back to twitter, niggerfaggot.

>the soldiers are all totally interchangeable.
This is modern warfare.

>Not everyone is a Zig Forumstard

The irony is, despite the author being a madman and the MC basically being a fedora tipping ancap, the moral of the story is anti-war and was from the very beginning.

The author is a rand fan with a love of vicky 2 which make for a way more interesting isekai than any of the billion SAO clones

Underrated

Mesugaki Tanya when?

It's a 10/10 anime but a number of things hurt it.
>premise is utterly ridiculous and people won't give it a chance based on that
>the source material isn't that great
>the LN author is crazy
>first time studio formed from Madhouse refugees
>tiny budget leading to a heavy reliance on CGI, recap episodes and skipped weeks

The director and writer were competent and managed to make a coherent narrative out of Carlo Zen's madness. The skipped weeks, recap and strategic use of CGI allowed them to keep the show looking good quality. The character design allowed more flexibility to go off model.
Youjo Senki shouldn't have been able to fly, but it did.

>vicky 2
The game of Paradox?

Hearts of Iron 2*
He literally tweeted having >9000 hours of playtime in it.

that's right

Holee based.

I dropped it after the third episode. I really want to love it because the idea of Yoshikage Kira reincarnating as a little girl during WW2 really appeals to me, it's just not gripping me. Does Tanya get more interesting? Does it explore Tanya's back story any more or does it keep doing the Overlord thing where the story just completely forgets that the main character is from another world.

She literally uses her knowledge of our timeline's First World War to influence world events.

No, this is a novel. If the characters were written to be interchangeable, they would be interchanged. But instead they don't die and they don't get replaced. They just keep hanging around leeching off the duck.

Also Vicky 2 the paradox game, the empire in tanya is literally a formable nation in vanilla vicky 2. If you cheese the hell out of a Prussia game you can annex most of Austria-hungry into Germany when you trigger the "three cheers for Germany" event.

It's garbage. And I'm a World War Historyfag who usually likes edgy stuff
