Honest opinion on FMA?
was this the epitome of a well structured shonen from head to tail?
good characterization, straight to the point magic system, plots are all in place, grounded plot foundation not too long or too convoluted. It's the best example of an orderly shonen.
Honest opinion on FMA?
It's a well done shounen but it lacks style
overrated shit
fanbase full of garbage dubfags
It's good.
This
Correct.
It is a solid series, through and through.
Contrarians in this sub are trying to seem 'cool' by saying it's overrated shit, yet can't come up with anything better.
If it's not to your taste, fine. But I don't think anyone can dispute that it's a solidly written piece of work.
Characters are great, believable. It has heartwarming, funny, dramatic and shocking moments all done wonderfully.
People will say 'too many gags' need to read the manga.
People who say '03 was better' probably haven't watched '03 since 2003. It has shit-tier cringe filler episodes right off the bat, but people overlook that shit bc 'muh edgy'.
Also, both series have god tier OP's and ED's.
Manga a best, though.
>muh contrarians
I can dispute it's overrated crap, Winry is shit tier female lead, nobody ever cares about her. Even Sakura generates more discussion.
It’s good but to call it the best shonen ever? Ehhhh the way I see it was a consistent 8/10 for me throughout the show,it never really dipped in quality the whole time and had occasional moments of 9/10 but I see this show more as a benchmark for shonen anime rather than the best
>in this sub
what did redditor mean by this?
Solid I guess, I got through the manga but I've never understood the people who go "BEST SHONEN EVER OMG!!111"
sakura generates discussion bc of how badly she's written
winry is top tier waifu
fits her role perfectly.
probs bc most shonens don't stick the landing and get kind of drawn out at the end
fma ended right when it needed to with a satisfactory ending
>waifu=anime girl
she is taken btw
absolute state of normiecucks
imagine being this much of a contrarian
Cool, you can thank the burgers for that.
What Hiromu is doing now? Always wished she had serialized her 2006 one-shot Souten no Komori since I’m a huge ninja fag
Dropped it pretty fast due to not liking the art, dialogue, or characterization.
based
It is fine, but the story relies on layers and layers of coincidences working in the protagonists favor, and while Wrath, Greed, Kimblee, and Scar were memorable antagonists, the other Homunculus and Father were pretty bland.
And for what was a pretty good power system in theory, every fight outside of Greed vs Ed made no real use of the Alchemy concept.
It is shit, especially the ending.
I would definitely call out the show's characters on being the weakest link and the most undeserving of the praise that the show receives. For starters, the writing is often clunky and awkward, but that's not the main issue. It's because most of them are not really characters: they're plot devices with one or two distinguishing traits tacked on. They're entirely predictable, not because they feel like real people but because they do the same things over and over again. Al talks about what he'll do when he gets his body back. Ed talks about how they'll find a way and how they will atone for their mistakes and etc. It's not that it's melodrama: it's the fact that it's the SAME melodrama over and over again. It wasn't until sometime past episode 30 that Ed stopped sounding perpetually like a broken record and started to feel as though he were actually developing, but even then he was really just defined by his arc and not by any amount of complexity.
She's still doing the Arslan adaptation. Given how messy it got while publishing both Arslan and Silver Spoon at the same time I guess she won't start anything else until she is done with that.

I agree but jesus you need a couple more degrees of separation from reddit holy fuck
It felt well done but 'soulless' for lack of a better word. Like I felt it was a well constructed story but I didn't particularly care about anyone. It's a weird feeling.
You posted a seinen
Dub > Sub.
Sorry its fact.
Idk- I actually felt like it cared about everyone. Cow -lady liked all her characters so they tried to give them all some good moments, Gags, serious, points, or panel time. The trade off is it doesn't feel like any one person was necessarily special in some ways. But that was kinda the point of the story.
How fast did you watch it, user?
Go back and read the manga. Take your time with it.
>Honest opinion on FMA?
Well written compared to its peers, but everything about the manga was much stronger in the beginning I feel.
2003 version will always be my favorite though. The music, atmosphere and art all do it for me.
Arslan Senki is based on a novel right? How much longer will continue?
Agreed on everything. The MCs and antagonists are all compelling, alchemy is unique with great limitations to serve narrative tension, plot and themes are tightly written with solid pacing. Basically shonen done right. It was as if Arakawa looked at One Piece and said "I'm going to do the opposite of that."
