I understand he's a weapons master and practices the art of war thus having an advantage but going as far as to tell Yujiro he shouldn't even try is kind of bullshit
Also did they really do Retsu like that? Nobody even really talked about it afterwards. It was a really emotional moment that was well done but man.. I'm really sad about this.
I don't know how I feel about this whole Musashi arc. I'm having fun reading it but I don't like the direction a lot of this is going.

I'm split on Retsu's death because he went on a really weird aimless arc right before this too, he did some boxing but didn't really change as a character because of it.
As much as I like him (more than Retsu even), I feel like Doppo dying would've made more sense, he already has Katsumi to succeed him too.

this has been explained in several threads and in the manga but i don't mind explaining this once again for the poor speedreaders. Memetobe is Memetobe explicitly because he is literally Musashi tier super genius in weaponry, but is absolutely fucking useless unarmed, hence why he normally sucks complete ass. The underground fighting arena stuff is always unarmed shit, so Memetobe is deprived of his bullshit to strike back effectively, its like telling a kickboxer to fight in boxing without using his legs, its essentially a total crippling to his fighting style and why he ate total shit in basically every fightan tourney.

Yujiro doesn't give a fuck about Sumo. He wants to crush people that are complete martial arts, not fat guys pretending to be warriors. The fact he already raped the shit out of a yokozuna in Maximum Tournament, who was the absolute top chad of Sumo, means unless he knows Sukune is a thing, which noone else did due to how he remained "hidden" at the temple, he had no reason to be interested.
Hell, he could even be at this tournament and watching. He's been way more laid back since Baki made him the little figure out of car parts.
