HxH did end though. The major arc was concluded. The DC is more like a sequel series. I can say with 100% certainty that Gon's arc was flat out better than KnY. KnY fumbled pretty hard at the end.

Wan Pissers seething hard in this thread. Togashi was one of the first to promote HxH.
Not even the fans like it. There's people to try to flaunt it's numbers but when you ask them to explain how it was good they can't. There are certain parts of the manga that are good, certain demon fights (Akaza and Koku stand out) are good and actually provide some sort of character development for the bad guys. But the ending was fucking terrible, as are all the training arcs and a good portion of the human casts character development is fucking stupid. There's really no resolution in the ending, no stakes, or really any sort of climax. It fizzles out in the end and nothing really happens besides a few jobbers dying just to be reincarnated.
Gyro had fuck all to do with Gons arc. And I'm guessing he will be used to actually show Meteor city more and rope Gon/Killua back into the series.
But I'll be shocked if we ever get to that point to begin with.

It's the king of shounen because it's the best shounen. It's got the sales it does because its been running consistently since 97 and hasn't dipped in quality. KnY was spotty at best.
