she's just the cum bucket of the real boss and she knew that.

The "real boss" was tricked by her actually. He became her dependent dog.

Bump

Her love for Shinji seems genuine but that tell us nothing about her actual moral compass regarding the rest of humanity.

Her intentions were not evil per se, because the world would not have been any better off without her hijacking SEELE's plans. Her intentions and sense of morality were weird as fucking hell though.

>higher ups are going to fuck the world one way or another
>become a giant robot instead and peace out

She's just the cool version of Shinji and Gendo. Running away from the problems but with way more style.

There are no heroes or villains in Eva.

The angels were the heroes, they were the good guys

There's no villains in evangelion.

This is the strangest thing about this character. She doesn't seems to have bad intentions and probably cares about Shinji. However there is something really weird in the execution, some says she has asperger syndrome or some schizoid disorder who allowed her to handle that godhood project. And that's why Rei behave like an aspie.

She's a lunatic.

One thing I never understood, though, is why Shinji chokes Asuka at the very end on the beach.

>destroys the world to become god
I don't know OP, judge by yourself.

He thinks he's still inside the tang so he tries to choke Asuka looking for rejection and Asuka gives him acceptance making him snap and realize she's the real Asuka.

Some visuals imply it's been days or weeks since Shinji escaped the LCL sea and that he hasn't found anyone else (at least in what's left of Tokyo-3), so at least he still hasn't recoved and when he finds Asuka, he isn't conviced she's real and/or venting some frustation, which gets shattered when he gets his face caressed.

No they weren't. Man, reading the backstory made me wonder how retarded the original species had to be to make two separate races that were completely antithetical to each other.

>One thing I never understood, though, is why Shinji chokes Asuka at the very end on the beach.
he was gonna take out the trash but then he realized that's the only woman that anno will let him have a tiny chance of fucking so he stopped and cried because of how small that chance was

The angels did nothing wrong.

Does that imply that other people are eventually going to come out of the tang or was that retarded adam and eve allegory that makes absolutely no sense because a species can't actually spring about from just two beings.

Yui did say ANYONE could leave the Tang if they want to.

What if they don't leave the tang? I thought shinji rejecting it stopped it?

I think him rejecting it stopped everyone being FORCED to stay in tang form and instead being given the chance to revert

Well the FAR never wanted the two races to meet so that shouldn't have been a problem.

Is it ever said why? That just seems dumb to create two races which could eventually meet up even without the fuckup that happened on earth.

IIRC if the two fruits were combined, the being born from the union would be a god on the level of the FAR. So the incompatibility was added as a safety measure because the FAR didn't want their seeds to become usurpers.

Because the FAR possessed both the fruit of life and knowledge, having both led to their downfall. So they thought species should only be in possession of one.

Too bad we don't really know what the fruit of knowledge actually does because every theory has at least one "yeah but X angel kind of has it?" counterargument. Honestly we got shafted.

What do you mean? The angels only possessed the fruit of life.

That makes no sense, retard

Technically. What I mean is that while we have a decently good understanding of what the fruit of life is, the fruit of knowledge remains vague with contradictions. Admittedly most contradictions can be summed up with a single word: Kaworu.

The fruit of life gives eternal life and regeneration capabilities. The fruit of knowledge is probably just logic/intelligence and the ability to evolve.
I don't see how there's contradictions with Kaworu.

This is what we know about the FAR
