Go on Zig Forums and make a cry post about how the project is dropped by the original scanlation team and make your own. Then get the original scanlation team MAD AS FUCK to the point they drop other projects to work on the project you were working on/want to push forward.

Some user mentioned descreening in one of the earlier threads, are there any guides or plugins for it? All I could find was a pattern suppressor action, and a plugin called Sattva, which was useless for digitals, won't work on pages below 300 DPI.

I really just like to pointlessly scan everything at super high resolutions. Mostly just art books and an occasional manga/doujin page for colouring purposes and sometimes a doujin if I feel like buying them.

0. Make sure you translation group has a usable website with the manga available there.
1: List your manga in several online indexes. Besides the two obvious ones, there is the 3rd index of MANGAPUPDATES. This is a searchable index of translated manga stories and translation teams can register for an account and have the translations listed.

2. Make sure your translations are uploaded to various manga aggregation reader sites. One site is MangaDex. Please note that mangadex has future plans to become a fee site like FAKKU or those other chinese pay sites. The money would be paid to the original rights holders and the translators would also collect a fee for their work. MangaDex is switching to the same distributed image transfer method that e-hentai uses where users signup to be @home servers. Eventually, most of the bandwidth needs of the site will be supplied by these elite registered users.
3. Be a reliable translator. If you translate a project then abandon it after 5 to 10 chapters, and do this for several manga titles, people will give up on you, stop visiting your website, etc.
4. Avoid any debates. Some people are jealous or hate translators and will try to pick a fight. Let it go. Their only goal is to make you look bad with asymmetric warfare since they are user and you aren't.
5. Don't make promises to release at a constant rate. Self-entitled People will try to demand that from you, but you are doing this to learn Japanese better.
6. If you aren't solidly confident on all the above items, then why not join one of the many translation teams out there. Participating in those will also help teach you about behind the scenes problems and solutions and give you maturity points towards starting your new project.

There is no need for you to post your Twitter unless you're an attention whore. If you don't post it, then you won't get notified. Let the authors send the messages to those manga aggregator sites instead and have the aggregator deal with it. Some translation groups are just like that. They may have a website, but they don't post all their instant messaging or emails.

If you volunteer to help other translation teams, you might even be able to get raws through them when they order the manga or LN (this way you avoid the minimum purchase problem) or at least piggyback your requests if they have a privilege raw download account.
Many public libraries have free scanners. My libraries do and they are built into the photocopy machines. They are FREE. Just plug in the thumb drive and select scan to USB on the photocopy machine menu. Those are high quality commercial scanners of course.
Or you can buy a cheap all-in-one HP inkjet printer and just use the scanner feature. I remember them selling as low as $39 in the retail store before the covid crisis.

If it is a marginally popular title, then you might try to volunteer to translate it at translation/editing team sites such as:
Unlike aggregator sites like MangaDex, some translation teams are actually a megaset of multiple separate teams. Many times, teams of smaller works don't want to go it alone and feel more comfortable working as part of an existing release group such as LHTRANSLATIONS. In return, you can often find some editing and infrastructure help for your project as long as you provide the translation effort.
As shilling goes, many people visit the Lhtranslations site instead of reading it at mangadex or some other aggregator. Because new releases are prominently listed at their website, many readers will try reading your project too. That's one advantage of being part of a larger translation group as they bring more traffic to your project too.
