Why does this happen in shounen?

Why does this happen in shounen?

It seems to me there are two ways to approach a disadvantaged fight:

The jojo way where the protagonis outwits his opponent or the generic way where the protagonist gets a powerup midfight.

It seems many mangaka often opt for the later, why? Is it just easier?

I want to touch tips with Deku

>The jojo way where the protagonis outwits his opponent
LOL I CAN ALSO STOP TIME

>Protagonist sets up a trap and uses strategy and psychology to win
Yeah, i'm thinking based.

Ok ok, random asspulls happen in jojo, but at least the mangaka tries to be creative about them instead of "uh my friends believe in me" or whatever

>The jojo way where
You're full of shit since Araki also resorts to "the protagonist gets a powerup midfight"

Asspulls happen in Jojo but nowhere near as frequently as other manga.

>Asspulls happen in Jojo but nowhere near as frequently as other manga.
Haha

Araki frequently resorts to asspulls and contrivances, because he writes at random and traps himself into corners.

>the generic way where the protagonist gets a powerup midfight.

>the unique way where author deconstructs powerup trope

>implying this wasn't an entirely justified power boost that had been set up since the beginning of the arc

Gon kicking Neferpitou's teeth in is the 2nd best fight in the series after Netero vs. Meruem

Jojo is ASSPULL THE ANIME

Yeah but everything leading up to GER was out smarting to retrieve the arrow in the first place.

In defence of Jotaro just because he could also stop time didn't give him a win condition since he could stop time for less and had to time it at a point where he'd get the advantage.
Ie. Road Rolla Da

He looks completely fine to me.

NOOO YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE ALL POWER FROM THE PROTAGONIST AND MAKE HIM AN IRRELEVANT CHARACTER THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS NOOO PLEASE

Can't you read? He can't make any aura dumb dumb

He already got his life’s goal of meeting his Dad, why the fuck would he even need his powers?

>Thinks that Requiem is an asspull
The absolute state of herofags

Or teamwork. Why do people always forget about teamwork?

True but it has to be actual teamwork and not just "my friends believe in me"

>pulls a god damn needle out of his head that he didn't even know was there so he could get a power boost and defeat his opponent

Many shonen do teamwork right

Because shounen has always been about guts and fighting spirit and believing in yourself/your friends/whatever the fuck else and winning when you realistically shouldn't have a chance. If you want to watch a contest where logic dictates everything and whoever has the advantageous position is gonna 100% win, you might have the wrong genre.

He got a courage boost that he could have gotten from just getting over his personal issues. The purpose of making it a needle was to allow for the introduction of Nanika, the one real asspull of HxH

lmfao, did you just take JoJo as a good example? The one whose 3rd part is tge most popular? Where Jotaro starts flying out of nothing and stops time himself and just ora ora ora's people to win?

lmfao

i'm not a fan of this scene myself, but the backlash for that one was fucking big. They definitely can't afford this to happen a second time. HxH is unironically big brain

homework with aunt mitou is fun

>He seriously still thinks he won't get Nen back

Yamato-damashii, or "Japanese Spirit" is the answer.

A little tidbit from Bleach:
>Do you remember the first time when you were a child that you stood up and walked on your own? If you don't remember doing it, and yet you did it, it means that you weren't conscious of it at the time. So how did you know how to do it? The answer is all humans are born already knowing how to stand up. Just as birds are born knowing how to fly, and fish are born already knowing how to swim. It's because of what we call instinct. All living creatures use instinct to obtain their natural powers when the time comes that they need them.

There's three components to this:
固有 (Koyu, Talent), The trait, gift or possession that akes you special and/or the story worth telling.
知恵 (Chie, Resolve), the belief that cannot be shaken and can sometimes have more value than the believer's life.
精神 (Seishin, Persistence), the idea that willpower can overcome the impossible by just "trying harder".

I could go into more details but I won't for now unless you desperately want me to.
