>implying this wasn't an entirely justified power boost that had been set up since the beginning of the arc
Gon kicking Neferpitou's teeth in is the 2nd best fight in the series after Netero vs. Meruem

Jojo is ASSPULL THE ANIME

Yeah but everything leading up to GER was out smarting to retrieve the arrow in the first place.
In defence of Jotaro just because he could also stop time didn't give him a win condition since he could stop time for less and had to time it at a point where he'd get the advantage. Ie. Road Rolla Da
Michael Nguyen
He looks completely fine to me.
Gabriel Bennett
NOOO YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE ALL POWER FROM THE PROTAGONIST AND MAKE HIM AN IRRELEVANT CHARACTER THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS NOOO PLEASE
Because shounen has always been about guts and fighting spirit and believing in yourself/your friends/whatever the fuck else and winning when you realistically shouldn't have a chance. If you want to watch a contest where logic dictates everything and whoever has the advantageous position is gonna 100% win, you might have the wrong genre.

He got a courage boost that he could have gotten from just getting over his personal issues. The purpose of making it a needle was to allow for the introduction of Nanika, the one real asspull of HxH
Robert Morales
lmfao, did you just take JoJo as a good example? The one whose 3rd part is tge most popular? Where Jotaro starts flying out of nothing and stops time himself and just ora ora ora's people to win?
lmfao
Connor Perry
i'm not a fan of this scene myself, but the backlash for that one was fucking big. They definitely can't afford this to happen a second time. HxH is unironically big brain
Yamato-damashii, or "Japanese Spirit" is the answer.
A little tidbit from Bleach: >Do you remember the first time when you were a child that you stood up and walked on your own? If you don't remember doing it, and yet you did it, it means that you weren't conscious of it at the time. So how did you know how to do it? The answer is all humans are born already knowing how to stand up. Just as birds are born knowing how to fly, and fish are born already knowing how to swim. It's because of what we call instinct. All living creatures use instinct to obtain their natural powers when the time comes that they need them.
There's three components to this: 固有 (Koyu, Talent), The trait, gift or possession that akes you special and/or the story worth telling. 知恵 (Chie, Resolve), the belief that cannot be shaken and can sometimes have more value than the believer's life. 精神 (Seishin, Persistence), the idea that willpower can overcome the impossible by just "trying harder".
I could go into more details but I won't for now unless you desperately want me to.
