Grappler Baki

I finally caught up with this. I'd like to talk about it. Are we allowed to do that, or this is one of those blacklisted animes the board doesn't allow?

what is there to talk about?
It's unbearably shit which makes it hilarious
tho I much more prefer voices in this show than in any other adaptation

Well, did Yujiro got his character just switched out? He was always like a sadistic fuck, but after the the Chinese Tournament he didn't do anything aside from saying hello to Pickle. He seemed pretty content with a single ""draw"" with Baki and then nothing after. Except another "draw" with Mushashi.
and did this scene had some meta significance? When did he become famous?

Also I am not sure I understood this. Was there some secret line of martial artist sumo guardians that no one ever knew about? But then how did Baki know about it, or how did Tokugawa? Did they just one day came by?

I am also not sure what was going on here. Retsu was fully "muh chinese kempo" for 2 series up to this point. Then right after he went back to "muh chinese kempo" for the rest of his run.

What I also wasn't expecting that Muhammad Ali would become my favorite anime character at some point

it basically represents bike fans and the fact that they like a sadistic and abusive monster. alias the world of baki is obsessed with martial arts

Here is a big wtf though
>Mushashi vs Yujiro
>"Oh my swordless cut mastery! I am so close to perfecting it in the heat of combat!"
>"With that I can cut the Mighty One with ease!"
>"Here you go Tokugawa, your sword back."
>blueballing from Motobe
>Mushashi fights Pickle
>"Oh I cannot cut this palace of muscle without my swords! Let's reschedule."

Was Yujiro actually that popular? I liked him as an antagonist first, but he slowly became annoying with the constant wankery against the US military, and bullying presidents. And I'm not even american.

I really fucking hate this art style. I find it very disgusting and shit-tier. Makes you wonder what kind of blackmail or backroom deals went on for it to last at all.

Yeah, yeah, exit for filtered plebs is that way.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Every long-running manga's style changes over time. It is inevitable. Just look at JoJo

>pic related
Part 1 Jojo is still renaissance tier compared to late Baki

Whoops sorry sweaty

Cringe and uninitiated.

It seems that Doppo is getting punished for all his misdeeds and smug faces

>misdeeds
But he did nothing wrong.

so im watching the netflix anime and the main character does not fight at all? I'm nearing the end of season 1 and all he does is watch as others fight

After the end of the first show, the main character became too OP so he mostly just shows up at the finales. The story is now about everyone else.

Honestly the netflix anime is kind of a shit starting point for baki, you have all these characters fighting inmates and you're supposed to care about them. How are you supposed to root or care for Hanayama without 300+ chapters of grappler baki.

By the way has the maximum tournament finally been scanlated? Or is the Zig Forumsrchive the only way to read it?

fucking newfags, I swear

No, not last I checked. It moved on a little but not fully done. Your best bet is still to watch the 2006 anime for the Max Tournament.

And I agree, the best part for New Grappler when almost forgotten characters showed up and had their moment.

So anyone want to see how will THE Nomi no Sukune dissing the sport that he created?

What a jobber

oh shit, so the netflix adaptation does not start with the very beginning of the series? which parts do i need to read before i catch up?

There is a Grappler Baki anime from 2006 but it is quite low-budget.
Then there are the Grappler Baki mangas, but the last arc is untranslated. It is still pretty interesting though. It follows Baki actually growing up through the years.

POST THE REST

its all here mangascan.site/バキ道65/

bless your soul

I mean, last time we saw Retsu was in the Raitai arc where Chinese Kenpo was getting the absolute shit beaten out of it. He had taken a huge blow to his faith in his martial art and the existence of Pickle basically destroyed what was left initially.

It's an inconsistency, and a pretty bad one in terms of his character changing.
