The problem is that rebases are now inflating market cap more than daily volume. for example todays rebase will inflate by 70m, while only 15m has been traded in last 24h. of that 15m perhaps 3m is net buy. so you get 70m market cap expansion on only 3m net buy volume. rinse and repeat. this is not real value frens.

also. YES you are correct BCUZ its in MC discovery. AMPL+high liquidity is a fairly new and will be volatile. AMPL is base-money - it doesnt really have value outside itself. Fiat has value because of fiat (supply/demand) - gold has value the same way (supply and demand) AMPL is the same (supply and demand) - BUT it is designed to go to $1 and theoretically doesnt have infaltion/deflation (in terms of $$ price)

So what you are describing is inflation right? Ample needs to inflate untill $1 is reached.

i think this can happen to. since its so volatile but honestly that will just give me more confidence in the tech. If over-long term the MC is higher than where i bought in - Ill be good. if it completely fails - that sucks but im sure there will be another iteration of it but better

the point is that the market cap "added" from rebases far exceeds total traded volume. under ordinary circumstances, if you have 15m volume, 8m buys and 7m sells market cap goes up 1m. with ampl, it goes up 1m + 30% of current MC. ampl is synthesizing market cap via rebases with relatively small amounts of new money coming. for every 1 unit of new investment, something like 5 to 10 units of synthetic market cap are added on at current conditions. clever isn't it?

yes, that is the intended purpose of the rebases, but continuous demand is outstripping it for the time being.
