I've never watched Re-Zero but I did watch Rem's confession scene on Youtube and later saw Subaru's confession for Emilia. Why do people like Rem so much?

Isn't Rem a side character while Emilia is the main girl? Did the author not do a good job presenting Emilia as a good love interest?

Why don't you just watch it and find out you complete fucking retard?

I also never watched it but this Rem girl looks way cuter than that Emily bitch. She looks very bland if I'm being honest.

/thread

I also never watched this series but Rem seems like she has a personality while Emilia doesn't.

Emilia being a princess candidate puts a weird power dynamic on things and she understands that but Subaru doesn't so Emilia goes out of her way to distance herself from him - also halfway through the anime Subaru makes a total embarrassment of himself and Emilia.

Rem is more on his level socially and the scenes with him and her saving the village and him dealing with her getting CLOWNED by beetle juice really show the connection the two have and develop.

Also Emilia is kinda fucking weak and Rem comes out of the gate extremely strong and confident.

the only reason people like rem is because she's a shortstack; also all the oni faggotry
emilia is much more developped, she just suffers from the main girl curse

Guys like her cause she's easy pussy and girls like her cause she's a pathetic cuck they can relate to.

>emilia is much more developped

Sorry, I was asking adults here for answers. Not unsupervised children like you.
>Rem is more on his level socially
Is this what it really boils down to, do you think?
Now we're closer to the real answer. Thanks for the clarification anons. I suspected that was the case but I had my doubts.

>literally asks to be spoonfed
>h-heh i'm the actual adult here

Any form of question can be mis-characterized as "spoonfeeding" by your logic, jackass.

...

like said, Rem attracts useless zoomers because she's easy and idealistic, while also appealing to fujos by being a gay underdog or somethin idk
holy based

Side character received more development and screentime while the main girl got thrown in the backburner.

Plus she's a cute maid.

Rem is a very relatable character whose fuck ups cause her and those around to suffer. But she tries her best to improve and it makes her endearing.

She's definitely a side character. Just one that became ridiculously popular. Emilia isn't exactly bad but the story doesn't let her reach her full potential.

Who... is Rem?

O my god that's like a super interesting question op !!

>Did the author not do a good job presenting Emilia as a good love interest?
Subaru's love for Emilia is one sided.
Emilia doesn't like that creep.
Yet Subaru is obsessed with her while Rem loves him for who he is. Now there are legitimate reasons why Subaru doesn't love Rem, but the point of Subaru's character is that he wants what he can't have. He wants to be some hero that saves the damsel in distress. He's basically a loser with delusions of grandeur. The anime is about him confronting himself and accepting his flaws and growing as a character.

Which version of the first season is better?

She's cute and more interesting than Emilia. It doesn't take much to be better than Emilia, she's super boring.

Because self inserters are upset Subaru doesn't do what they would do.

Original

Thanks for the info.

The only difference I know of is on the last episode. The director's cut is better for that one.

Seeing the director's cut and it's practically the same thing but a little bit censored. The only difference is the director's cut has an added scene in the final episode
My recommendation would be to watch the Blu Ray except for the final episode, then watch the final episode from the director's cut.

You convinced me. I will watch it in that order.

Keep in mind the directors cut is an hour long special so it covers two episodes.
It would be Blu Ray episode 1-23 then director's cut for the finale.
Just make sure you don't skip an episode

Remember when Zig Forums would not have fallen for thread starting "I've only seen a clip on youtube about this but"? Because the memory for me is fading
