It pisses me off to no end when someone claims Berserk is akin to a Shonen. What teenage boy would be interested in mature and graphic concepts such as rape and penis monsters? A character like Wyald, whose brutality is linked to fundamental character motivations and overarching themes making all the associated rape scenes immensely classy and entirely necessary, far surpasses what any teenage boy could possibly handle. Berserk is for only the most mature and intelligent of adults and even then, they're liable to not be able to handle it.
