My God

God of Highschool is shaping up to be one of those sakuga-awakening type series ala One Punch Man

It’s even more generic shonenshit and the mc is fucking sun wukong a shit flinging ape who fought against heaven

Isn't this animated by Mappa? The animation will be good only for the first 2 episodes

...

This is a thoroughly Japanese production though. Only the source material is foreign but that's about it.

This is animated by Mappa. Oh my god, what a retarded post

I can't wait for the quality posts in ep 3.

>am i fitting in yet?

God of High School has a much better production schedule than Yuri on Ice.

Unless all episodes are already done before they air, I doubt it.

It can be... decent if you turn off your brain. Fights are sorta flashy and and it transitioned from martial arts to buddha corpse pinned to the moon by the nyoi bo pretty seamlessly. Although i lost interest somewhere during bishop fights

Nah, production is almost done because the director has to move on to Jujutsu Kaisen.

I'm pretty sure the show actually is already done and that's why Jujutsu Kaisen can have the same director even though it's only like 3 months away from airing

There's a reason that Tower of God and GoHS weren't affected by Corona, user. They were already done probably a year ago.
YoI was a production disaster. It's a miracle that they even managed it, at some point there were like a hundred animators or some shit.

manhwa go on Zig Forums
you already lost this fight, just give up

Thanks, that's a bit reassuring. I'm just afraid of expecting too much from a MAPPA fighting focused anime and getting disappointed. inb4 cgi fights
I remember when they did Rage of Bahamut, it was finished before airing started as well.

>inb4 cgi fights
The show will definitely use CG backgrounds for scenes with dynamic camerawork (as seen in the 5-minute preview), but probably not for the characters in action scenes.

so is it like Medaka Box or more like Sakamoto-Kun?

I mean, I wouldn't expect too much. But I don't expect a masterpiece either. It'll be mediocre, probably. This type of series doesn't fit MAPPA.

It's uh, like DBZ, I guess. Fights upon fights.

Not in slightest. Rather generic martial arts with some fate-like/persona type of deal later on. But the fights, even with all bullshit later on, were enjoyable imo.

highschool barely has anything to do with the story actually

>even though it's only like 3 months away from airing
It's going to be a shitfest.

>everyone has a blotch of cherry slapped on the bridge of their nose because the webcomic artist picked up the bad habit of half-assed tonal variance to hide how often they avoid shading

Ikki Tousen but without lewdness and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms plotlines

>This type of series doesn't fit MAPPA.
Why do you say so? This is hardly the studio's first run at an action series. In any case, the director is skilled at action animation so he should have a good grip on handling an action show.

It really was a miracle. I only remember the final episode production was only 1-2 weeks long and finished a day before it goes on air.

Will this be popular in Japan?

If it was supposed to be popular in Japan, CR wouldn't have to pump money in it.

>korean source
no

How popular is the ToG anime in Japan?
