Shameless soulless cash grab. Episode 12 ended the series on a high note perfectly. Rebellion is just redundant for redundancy's sake. Yeah Homura struggles to protect Madoka we've already seen this in the show and in a more fleshed out, well-paced way without the tryhard edgy visuals. Yeah Sayaka is suffering again, Madoka is trying to help her friends again. Everything in Rebellion is stuff we've seen before and done better with better writing. It's just so rushed and forced. Only good thing about Rebellion are the animation and music.

It felt like the natural direction for Homura's character to take. She never seemed like someone to take the events of the original series and accept them. Madoka mattered too much to her.
The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the fact we've been waiting years for a conclusion. Don't get me wrong, I love Rebellion's ending. But we're essentially waiting in limbo to see how this all turns out.
