Violet Evergarden

After just finishing Violet Evergarden I can easily say that it is one of the best anime I have seen in a while. The allegories presented each episode can make one think about the effects of losing a loved one in a time ofgrave calamity. But with that in mind and reading another person's porcelain review of the anime I ask this. If VE had been made by a lesser studio with a much lower budget and had a much lesser standard of animation; would it be as good? When can we recognize that pretty animation does not equal pretty storytelling?

You didn't just finish it, you have the same writting style as the spamming VEGfag.

That's good for you mate.
>If VE had been made by a lesser studio with a much lower budget and had a much lesser standard of animation; would it be as good?
No? The visuals are a combination of many things that go beyond motion simulation aka animation.

You sound awfully obsessed mate, actively looking for a thread you don't like to accuse somebody of being a person that you don't like.

Other studios wouldn't have made it about PTSD so no.

It just was meant to be, I guess.

After seeing every violet evergarden thread i can easily say that is the same faggot who makes these threads shillin this garbage anime

deny your feelings

Kneel before the GOAT fucboi.

To clarify my question; is it okay to excuse major plot points in the wake of beautiful animation?

Everybody knows animation and storytelling are very different things.
VE just happens to have both in good quality and measure.

Obviously not, but how can we recognize that something beautiful is manipulating us into thinking the opposite?

No.

>VE just happens to have both in good quality and measure.
No it doesn't have good storytelling, it doesn't do enough to get it's audience emotionally invested. all the drama comes off as hallow and manipulative.

>very popular and highly scored all across the board
>it doesn't do enough to get its audience emotionally invested
Pick one my dude.

Look if you're going to mention random reviews at least have the decency of trying to elaborate an actual opinion.

>Zig Forumsnons
>having opinions
Please.
Even among other Violet fans the plurality of opinions is scarce.

Cope, it's emotionally dishonest forced drama.

For me it got repetitive after a while. It all boiled down to violet visiting client, client doubting violet's autism, violet acting autistic, violet fixing client's problem somehow. Client's issues were usually related to someone they knew having died and needing to move on, it just got kinda boring after the episode with the author and his dead kid.

Now try saying that without buzzwords.

Too bad you can't see past the surface. Too bad indeed user, but honestly it can't be helped because that's just your opinion man.

what do you do?

Kick the annoying loli out and start making some tea.
I'd love to have long conversations with Violet.

There wasn't much below the surface either, imo. You're free to prove me wrong.

This anime was such a fucking snore fest

You must've missed the whole PTSD, master-slave dialectic, suffering as a driving force, self forgiveness and man's doomed quest for self-help thing.
And don't get me started on the visual allegories presented to the viewer as the whole narrative of the show unfolds and eventually spell out the tragic outcome of the protag's quest.

Really, you missed quite a lot and I honestly think you're better off watching stuff that was made for the lowest common denominator instead.

>think you're better off watching stuff that was made for the lowest common denominator instead.
Bitch please, this fucking garbage is the McDonald's of anime tailor made for normalfags

Whatever floats your boat user. I'm not the one utterly incapable of grasping the most basic aspects of an anime that you call the mcdonalds of anime.

This

Garbage melodrama story for women in their 40s. Also, the blurry effect and shitty filters made it an eyesore to watch.

VEG felt very hollow to me, like a bingo card of high production value components stuck together without any personality. And I'm usually a sucker for pretty visuals and music.

There's very little nuance in the writing - they just throw contrived backstories and cliched character motivations at you, and then have a grand resolution with beautiful animation and music.

I'm convinced that the people that adore are either turbo newfags that haven't watched much, sakugafags or so easily emotionally manupilated that they probably have some mental diagnosis.

moreover the "criticism" is nothing but buzzword salads
