One Piece's story/writing/characters are such hallmark paragons of achievement, they can thrive in even the shittiest adapatation. HXH/Bleach/Naruto are so bottom tier writing, the only thing that could salvage their credibility was to go all out for good animation.

Worlbuilding can be as much part of the story as anything else and relate to its themes. Sdlty most authors that focus too much on worldbuilding do end up just doodling stuff instead of telling a story. This is not the case with Oda though.
