>helping people
more like selfish self-sacrificing faggots that need to play hero all the time

The savior complex of liberals turned me into the most selfish and unaltrisutic person imaginable.
These people are mentally ill.

Sounds like you were always a selfish douchebag and they had nothing to do with it. It's just an excuse because you can't even admit to yourself that it's all you are.

helping someone for no reason is something americans don't understand

Hi Zig Forums

Thanks anonymous post 205081865

It is for Asians
Sadly for them too much interbreeding leads to it becoming more common

It sucks but I think it's true that that kind of attitude will most likely end up harming you in the long run.

shirou had a reatrded hero mentality, araragi was just horny as fuck

Nothing is wrong with helping people.
However, there is something very wrong about wanting to help people while having a major martyr complex.
Not only that, but most people dont even realize or don't want to admit that evil can be born from a desire to do good things.

Shirou has a legit mental illness, so this is kind of moot for him. He has survivor's guilt, which evolved into the hero/martyr complex that he has now.

kaiki best girl

The point is wanting to save people without wanting to save yourself is hypocritical and unsustainable. You'll just end up making a mess.

Nothing wrong with helping people, but doing it for no particular reason is stupid.

Every day is shoulder day for Akagi.

Truth!

So, altruism is stupid? Helping for the sake of helping is stupid?

Why would you post that alongside someone who spent their whole life gambling for no reason other than he wanted to? What if instead of getting his kicks from gambling Akagi was into charity work?

as expected from satan

Is there an actual "true" altruism? Like, helping someone with something and getting absolutely nothing for it? I thought most people who don't really do it for fame or fortune do it because it gives them that feeling of satisfaction.

No. All self-sacrificing acts are done only because there’s some other pleasure a person can get out of it. No one willing suffers unless they think they’ll take pleasure in suffering

Based

thats nonsense, altruism is a core part of Christianity and white culture

Nothing wrong with helping people. But if they don't want help then fuck em.

It is for Shirou. He is actually insane.

Altruism is fine if you’re helping others you care about. Helping people you don’t care about for no reason is often unhealthy and often done just to make someone feel better about themselves.

>often done just to make someone feel better about themselves.
So you ended up helping someone AND made yourself feel better. Seems like a win-win to me.

Don't know about the other guy, but Shirou oscillates between your usual whiteknighting shonen protag and a literal masochist who just likes to suffer, and does not truly care about others, depending on path. And masochism is a mental illness.

Yeah, it's possible to brainwash people into believing they need to help people it of the goodness of their hearts, but threatening them with eternal damnation is much more efficient so most leaders used some form of that instead.

Except that form of altruism often leads to unhealthy relationships and ineffective charity. I’ve met a decent amount of people who act like that and they’re often a chore to be around and/or have huge egos.

Sure, but then they get in a situation where hurting another would give them more satisfaction than helping them.
You can never fully trust that kind of person to help you when you need it most.
True altruists on the other hand are just creepy and alien to me, which is why there only answer is to be alone.
