Unrelated question, but did Shinji and Rei spend 14 years inside of Unit-01 after the 2.0 ended? I know Shinji gets salvaged though I don't understand why he lets himself be salvaged it was a voluntary process in NGE out of it in 3.0, but is it ever outright stated that Rei's soul was still stuck there too?
