Who actually cared that Ace died? He showed up for half an arc then left.
There was zero emotional attachment for the reader

I felt emotionally attached so you are wrong
I felt bad for laughing the 1st time I read this. But it feels good to know I wasn't the only one who found it funny.
Why is Luffy laughing when there's a dead body on him?
You were supposed to feel bad for Luffy, not Ace. His death is sad in retrospect.
Pell should've been the first death in the current timeline
It was so obvious that he was created to die and give luffy a sad big brother death that I just couldn't care
low I.Q = Likes One Piece
avarage I.Q = Dislikes One Piece
High I.Q = Likes One Piece
Low IQ
>One Piece is shit and only losers like it
High IQ
>Haha character make funni faec
Ah yes nothing shuts down the fags harder then this.
If their flashback were before the war it would have been more emotional, for me at least.
300 I.Q = calls it Wan Piss
Is kind of ironic. Ace was literally created for the moment in OP. And it became one of the most iconic "involuntary comedic" moments of all times.
He wouldn't have immediately if was just ace vs akainu. He would be able to keep alive for a while until back up came to bail him out and slap some sense into ace. He only got insta killed because luffy was there not paying attention
My mom was pissed.
She was like
>Wow so we went through all that bullshit and he dies anyway?
I don't blame her. He was about to escape, mission accomplished. But Ace wanted to be a spreg
>d-don't t-talk bad about sniff sniff whitebeard sniff
She ia rigth though, Garp should have taken the blow, now that would had been a really sad death
Yeah Ace fuckin killed himself by attacking Akainu after everyone died and got injured trying to save him.
Seriously Ace is one of the all time biggest assholes in manga history.
Seriously. I couldn't help but think the fucker deserved it after pulling that retard move.
It wasn't just because of that. Luffy could have still fallen and Ace could have still needed to protect him. In the end caring too much about pride and safety of others was his fatal flaw.
This.
With barely any screentime but apparently still being a "big deal", he was definetly going to get btfo one way or another.
Also this.
Losing Garp would and his based old man manliness would have brought the waterworks.
Ace could have held for a little while against. It was protecting Luffy that ultimately killed him.
Be honest neither of you actually expected him to die and are just talking in hindsight.
Not so much die because there was no telling if Oda was even going to actually kill anyone up until that point,
but at least get crippled like Shanks did to motivate Luffy into not being a shitter.
No, it was not ignoring Akainu that ultimately killed him.
Whitebeards death had way more impact for me personally. Epic and sad at the same time.
That's pride for ya.
*idiocy
Akainu would still need to work for the kill. Ace was fast and tough and still had some resistance to akainu. His burns healed pretty fast. Akainu would never get that clean perfect hit without luffy. Ace would live long enough for marco. Or vista to get there
i was kinda pissed of as well
>Women will never understand
A character doesn't need to be around long for you to feel sad for them. Fucking sociopath.
I cared because I wanted more of him
