So after stacking 60 oz. of practically every other kind of silver, I've finally bought a single 1oz ASE.

I'm definitely paying too much, but I just want to have one. It's just such a classic that my stack seems to have lacked something without it.

The "sound test" is your best bet for checking whether or not it's actually silver. There are apps you can download that will listen to the sound made when you tap the coin and tell you whether or not it's genuine. This test is not 100% as what it does is compare the sound of the coin you struck to the acoustic profile of a genuine coin they recorded, but it's still better than nothing.

Personally I would see it as the opposite - stimulus = inflation, and PMs are primarily a hedge against inflation.
