What parts of 5Ds can I skip

I started 5Ds on a whim and I'm down with its syndrome. But it's also 150+ episodes and I can already smell the filler. Is their a guide on what episodes I can skip just so I can watch this retarded story unfold, or do I literally have to see everything to get the full picture?

Also 5Ds/Yu-gi-oh thread I guess.

The whole thing.

END YOUR TURN, JEAN!

You have to get the full picture. It's the best Yugioh season.

On that topic, how the fuck did they get away with this?

Didn't they have the same character designer?

based

both top tier waifus

just stop at episode 64 or something. everything is downhill

There are slow parts you can skip, but most of it is important to watch. Just search up a guide.
How do opinions this bad come to exist?

>I want to watch this kids' toy advertisement battle shounen, but I only want to watch the parts relevant to the story
Why the fuck are you watching it, then? Makes about as much sense as watching a romcom and then asking which parts you can skip while understanding the story.

First 64 are for the most part cohesive, so don't need to really skip anything there. Immediate aftermath is where filler starts building up, as they kinda lost all their plans due to a massive scandal with a cult and one of the VAs and they eventually settle down into the Machine Emperor plot, but it takes a bit for that to be determined. Can't recall the correct episode numbers for that section.

Because Akiza's initial design was a Victorian ensemble that was a lot more distinct, but when they went full motorcycle card games, they needed something simpler to save costs and went with jumpsuit, accidentally bringing them that close together.

she wears the jumpsuit for the entire rest of the show?

If you can smell the filler then there is no need for one.
>or do I literally have to see everything to get the full picture?
No,but most of the filler is actually good comedy.

Aki best girl

CRASHTOWN, nuff said.

The first 64 episodes are a tight, cohesive narrative (ASIDE FROM THE SPIRIT WORLD FUCK THAT SHIT) that forms the first part. Don't skip anything.
The only thing to consider skipping is the Crashdown arc from the Pre WRPG arc. It deals with the ultimate fate of a side character but doesn't do much.

This is the show where I entered college and stopped watching Yu-Gi-Oh. I tried watching it a couple of times, but I could never pick it up because it takes itself too seriously.

It could be argued that some of the first few episodes of S3 are also skippable.

>it takes itself too seriously
really? I had the opposite impression

Even if Crashtown is pure, undiluted filler, Kiryu is fucking based and the duels are badass.

If nothing else watch through the Dark Signer arc since that is the best part of the show and some of the best the franchise has to offer. Dat Jack/Carly duel...

Spirit World is the weakest subplot from part 1, yes. I ended up skipping Ruka duels because of this. I'm glad it didn't survive the transition to the WRGP arc.

Maybe it doesn't take itself seriously then, but rather it actually thinks it's cool. It tries too hard would be more accurate.

It's something I would have liked if I were a 13 year old, but by 2008 when it came out I had already watched Haruhi in 2006 and my tastes had changed.

>I tried watching it a couple of times, but I could never pick it up because it takes itself too seriously
At certain points that seriousness becomes its biggest source of unintended comedy. Card Games were big and important in OG and GX but here it got ridiculous. Everything from precursors to the legal system is tied to card games. The prison arc had me in stitches.

Aki is well endowed.

maybe it's my autism flaring up but what pissed me off the most about 5Ds was that we never got to see all of the Machine Emperor upgrades. they barely played around with the mix-and-match-concept of the archetypes. the WRGP duel with all three of them really was lackluster

Yoshida wrote a lot of it so it definitely does take itself seriously in many places. His writing style tends to come across as tryhard.

DOMA is the worst part of DM for me so I'm not surprised I also don't like 5Ds.

Imagine wanting to skip this:
