Is he the only "Team Hard Work" character with no asspulls or bullshit power-ups?
Is he the only "Team Hard Work" character with no asspulls or bullshit power-ups?
Its the closest but having a dojo with 6 of the strongest martial arts masters in the world in his neighborhood is bullshit.
Read Rakudai kishi no cavalry
In that one his girlfriend gets the bullshit powerups instead.
But the story is not about stella
Hard work is a meme, both body training and studying has a maximum limit before you're basically wasting time.
Also the manga had a shit ending.
That shit was ass. His power is complete bullshit. How is he not asspull with the most overpowered ability?
The true factor is circumstance.
It's to be understood every character in shounen trains off screen. Luffy's never shown training but he mentions something about training his fists to become powerful like a pistol in the first chapter, basically the guy's been training since childhood, Naruto trains everyday in his appartment, dude lives alone so he doesn't have much to do anyway, Shirou risks his life everyday with magic training, he never dies because he's fated not to, but he still trains to the point of passing out.
how did this shit end?
I completely stopped following it many years ago
You are totally wrong:
Doubling Physical Power: Ikki's ability as a Blazer. He is able to double his physical abilities, but this has been considered useless as others can enhance their physical abilities 5 to 6 times using natural magic thus making it the worst among all Blazer abilities
Yeah, but that means nothing. An author can just write that whenever a character is off screen they are always training, but that means nothing if we can't see any struggle that comes with actual improvement. What everyone means is which character has meaningful and well written "Improvement" that comes not from plot contrivance, but from understandable struggles that have been conveyed to the viewer so that a power up or victory does not seem unbelievable
Talking about Blade steal. Shit is immensely busted how he can just observe someone and know their entire style
Luffy
>Son of one of the strongest Pirates and leader of the Revolutionary Army
Naruto
>Son of the 4th Hokage and with a junchuruki
Yeah, no.
He might be in his own the series, but the rest of characters (especially the female ones) are all prodigies who barely need to train to get strong.
Read the novel, he never had a teacher he had to resort to just observe other people while they were training, making him naturally good at stuffs like that.
Besides let me tell you he is not the only one in the series with that skill.
not user but you way speedreaded that one, the post was just saying even fated saviors of the world in shonen still train. you'd have to find a counter-example like frieza for someone who didn't train at all
There’s also kenshin himura
I guess I should pick up the novel again, but the story starts right when he's already super skilled. It's not a journey to improve that we follow Ikki on. Hell the entire anime is just him shitting all over his competition. You can at least understand how bullshit he can seem
>Built up his body from an early age by helping his mom run their fishing shop
>became japanese champion and a world ranker(and lets be honest probably eventually world champion) through nothing but constant training and hard work.
Ippo is truly the greatest shonen protag
You are right, it’s not a journey of self improvement.
But he is still talentless (at least as a mage knight) and his fighting style illustrates it, he can also be countered really hard by the right opponent (for example latter in the novel his sisters develops a skill that basically makes her an impossible foe for him to defeat)
let's face it : everyone trains a lot in kenichi and the females too. They're not all prodigies except may be the masters but at first there existence is for comedy. Even them trains a lot.
The son of great men tend to be average or outright vile. If Louis XIV is extraordinary, Louis XV is average, if Marie Curie is great, her sons and daughters are average ( despite winning Nobel prizes ), if Alexander is The Great, his son ( if he has one ) isn't.
Was pretty great until about he went against the monkey boy and won via liver taps
In that case Naruto learning to tame his demon is an understandable powerup, but nothing tops Gon sacrificing his future so he can beat Pitou.
That's an asspull
Kenshin was gifted, not as ridiculous as Hiko, but still super talented.
Luffy is the grandson of the Marine Hero Garp, son of the world's most wanted man Dragon, was born with CoC, has the voice of all things, is a D, and is also the inheritor of Roger and Joyboy's will. Sure, Luffy went through training, but he was born special.
I mean, isn't it a little too convenient how the best technique he had for the situation at hand was usually the one his masters had just finished drilling into his head beforehand?
His victory against kano shou was bullshit.
It was a tie
And it was bullshit.
How
The strongest nigga in that junior yami thing that has been training since childhood, is considered a prodigy among prodigies, knows all the styles of yami loses to this literal who with a few good masters, it was plot convinience but kano should have destroy Kenichi in every way, i can undertsand beating almost everybody else but not him. Kano should have won.
