Planning on watching more tomorrow.
I've watched two episodes, when does it get good?
It's good from minute zero though?
Episode 1.
It slowly gets worse from there until Episode 11, unfortunately.
Are you new to anime?
Please be joking...
Can't really understand this anime without having read Birth and Death of Meaning desu.
Anyway it's really good but it's also not what you're expecting as an anime regular.
Not at all, but I haven't been actively seeking out anything 'new' in a very long time.
This is the first series I've watched new since Mob Psycho.
Really? So far it seems very 'anime' to me.
I love the design of the MC, but her fellow 'Dolls' feel so anime-esque in their designs and personalities. Especially the boss with her big tiddies hanging out.
Everyone's personalities so far feel cookie cutter to me, aswell. Do they develop well?
Never it goes downhill from episode 2.
Big titty girl is fucking her boss. It doesn't get more realistic than that desu.
But no the supporting cast does not get developed because they do not matter. The anime already has to sacrifice too much time on episodic characters to have the benefit of wasting episodes on her work colleagues.
It should be of no surprise to you that an anime called Violet Evergarden gives the character Violet Evergarden all of its attention.
Okay, so I can look forward to her feeling more human and less like an anime trope then?
Oh yes.
Takes a while though. Like, err, 6 or 7 episodes until the snowball that's been built until then gets big enough to cause damage.
Only the movie is worth watching. The writers are incapable of making throwaway characters interesting with only 24 minutes to develop them.
>user watches the movie
>user doesn't understand why she's like that
Good idea.
Oh fuck off.
Thanks, will keep watching.
>spoiling an anime i'm already disinterested in
Just giving me things to look forward to.
>tfw no violet gf
If he has seen the first two episodes he'd basically know why she's like that. Besides, because the movie isn't about 'muh Gilbert', one could likely enjoy it without knowing anything about the rest of the series.
>user only saw her being cold to people and a social outcast in every way
>user now sees her fully capable of human interaction but with some restraint
Ok.
>user gets to skip the largely predictable developmental phase and enjoy Violet at her best
Seems good to me.
feels bad, man
>watching character growth? pfff who needs that
How do we save VEG threads?
You don't.
Haven't watched the movies yet, though looking forward to it (because of the cute gay poster), but the TV is very flawed. Though it does improve the messy novel plot, the episodic stories are just not developed well. Violet's character development is all right, but most of the show felt boring if you've already watched shit like Kinotabi and other similar episodic somewhat-fantastical-setting stuff. Though if this is your first foray into this genre, it should be fine, I'd probably enjoy the hell out of Evergarden had it been one of my first series.
VEG is legit AOTD material. Get filtered fag.
Why? It's a great show and i'd like to be able to actually talk about it without that one autist that now also spams in Haruhi threads.
>the cute gay poster
The what?
You're also wrong, I've watched pretty much every popular episodic anime before watching this one and it still stands as one of the best shows out there.
>romantic light novel
into le bin
Because both the fans and the haters have learned to do nothing but shitpost.
You're talking as if it wasn't one autist arguing back and forth. I'm convinced that it is.
the animation will never be bad until the end but the story isn't particularly special or very interesting.
i only heard of normalfags getting emotional over it, i never felt anything special while watching it.
you sound underaged
VEG is... different, somewhat. You know the protag will eventually understand whay t she wants to understand but if you pay attention to the things the show tries to tell you through its visuals and through its contexts of trauma, etc you realize that it's not your average show. I'd argue it tries to say almost too much but maybe that's just me.
>a story about self-actualization through misery and pain isn't interesting
Sorry about your shit taste.
>Every story about a specific subject is always interesting regardless of its execution
Ok.
>moeshit
>good
Lol
Episode 10 is basically the only 7/10 episode of the series, everything before varies from 5/10 to 6/10 and everything after is a 5/10 AT BEST, only because it still looks nice but is completely retarded. So you already got the best moments of the series, just drop it or jump to episode 10, you don't even need to watch the 9 episodes prior to it, in general every episode is self contained except the last 3 that are just shit.
>implying the execution for this one is bad
Sorry about your shit taste.
