Seems likely however we could just be entering another act.
Them fighting the dragon/saving Farlyn could've been seen as end game especially when the Sorceror showed up.
Now that we know there's a greater power than the Sorcerer his defeat could just lead into an new arc fighting the Lion.
Especially since there's a lot of hanging threads of characters not present, however those characters could ultimately be unimportant.
A good amount even if we're in end game.
I would hope Kui wouldn't just rush to the ending.

Kobolds are used, since they will always fight to the death. These matches are inside dungeons, where its easy to resurrect people.
Beastmen can be used, but are rare since it is illegal to create them.
Less-lethal fights are popular, particularly among half-foots. These have a much lighter atmosphere than the above.

The Canaries background would explain her magic; of all the magic users we've seen thus far she's easily the most offense and AoE-focused one, both by the magic she's been shown to use and Cabron's worry in the fishman illusion fight.
It's also interesting how she doesn't appear to have much healing ability; Cabron completely passes over resurrecting her in favor of Maizuru, a near-stranger, when he looks for magic users who can raise from dead after the Chimera fight.
