Redpill me on the kimba VS lion king thing.
William Williams
SJWs heard Kimba and thought it Lion King was a rip off. Kimba is actually a localization of Leo: the jungle emperor. Both series of next to nothing in common and it's themes couldn't be further from one another. Kimba is all about civilising uncultured animals, the Lion King is about the circle of life and Hamlet for kids.
Jose Wood
interesting.
Was it not that
1) Kimba existed for years
2) disney makes the lion king
3) Jap company wants to relese another Kimba film however Disney sends a cease and desist because apparently Disney thinks it own the concept of African lion films despite kimba predating the lion king
Or something like that?

>redpill me on kimba vs simba
would you like to know about the actual content and which is better in a detailed way its kimba.
Or do you want to hear what disney did? they made friends with tezuka, waited till he's in his death bed, and went to make a movie over his work. We know this is true because staff would say kimba in interviews before they changed his name.
Justin Stewart
Isaac King
Now I wish Lion King did rip off Kimba, would have been really camp by the sound of it
Luis Stewart
I think nothing I can say about Kimba the white lion would do it as much justice as just watching the work.
It feels a lot more true and complete than anything the lion king was.
I especially like the final film, I think it's from 97.It's very pretty, and very full.
As for disney. Disney has before done loops in the air to steal IPS before, but what puts insult to injury is the fact that they
1) called it their first original
2) pretended to befriend teauka
3) stabbed tezuka in the back after he without a second thought talked about them being an inspiration
4) literally waited for him to be on his death bed to start production
and last but not least
5) give out cease and decease to kimba works pretending it was a ripoff and pretty much silence the existence of it in the west
Honestly it's absolutely insane that disney is the biggest animation company in the world, seeing how these guys are worse crooks than a god damn mafia.
These guys steal works really badly and without any remorse, they have been incredibly damaging to animation in the west, and killed talent not their own. Their copyright lobbying has screwed up actual important things like research, just because they want to keep micky around. By the way their TV staff right now according to rumors is run by sexual favor, where the big dog is making everyone suck his dick for directorial roles. They found it out about that fact because they all had the same std.
it's pretty fucking disgusting, and I'm happy that at least they don't call themselves 2d animators anymore, and hopefully one day a better animation studio would lead the west
Carter Ross
the whole "Disney stole from Kimba" thing has been completely debunked by yourmoviesucks. trust me I used to believe it too but you can't argue with his research.
tl;dr most of the visual similarity that was brought up was from the 1997 film, which came after Disney's.
Robert Stewart
To be fair, Tezuka was making Bambi in Africa with Kimba.
Nathaniel Watson
>disney known for stealing IPs and done this before
>footage showing early meeting shows them saying kimba, not simba
>early storyboard literally takes manga panels
>1 to 1 character designs
>there are plot holes in the lion king that are literally only filled if you watch kimba
>b..but guys, my favorite youtubor said that it wasn't! I swear!
Ethan Anderson
>I think nothing I can say about Kimba the white lion would do it as much justice as just watching the work.
>It feels a lot more true and complete than anything the lion king was.
you can just say so if you don't know anything about Kimba. Nobody here will judge you
Luis Thompson
I hate Zig Forumsshit too, but for once it's actually not like that. It's not quite that nothing was ever stolen either though, the real story is pretty nuanced.
Aaron Thomas
I haven't even heard of this youtuber until I searched up this issue, watched the whole video expecting him to be completely wrong, and then even getting convinced an hour in. It's gonna be hard convincing me otherwise with all the stuff he has debunked. Do you have the early storyboard and manga panel comparisons?
Eli Wright
You haven't actually watched it, have you. After the whole YMS thing, I looked it up. It was just standard boring kids stuff. Tezuka did make some amazing stuff for adults, but this one is literally just meh kids entertainment.
Colton Roberts
Can Kimba never be discussed without Lion Shit being brought up? Post kino or fuck off youtube.com

>5) give out cease and decease to kimba works pretending it was a ripoff and pretty much silence the existence of it in the west
I think this is the biggest problem here. See: >debunked by yourmoviesucks
Here is the thing I wanted to see for myself and what I found out is that YMS basically misrepresents the Kimba position and argues a strawman.
Watching this video really destroys his position.
youtube.com
Apparently the Kimba people are saying that Disney is a massive dick for demanding that Kimba be removed despite kimba existing before the lion king.
YMS apparently literally misrepresents his opposition and quite literally argues pro kimba since disney are the ones demanding kimba be removed since its a ripoff and that disney owns the concept of lions in Africa or some shit not the kimba people.
His most exploitable source is from a click bait watch mojo trash channel that churns out videos in the style of "transformers sure looks a lot like astro boy?! Huh? What did you think tell us in the comments".
Not only this after watching the full video they made it really damaging to YMS since they literally point out the fact that Kimba runs around with his fathers dead body.
See this for yourself:
youtu.be
YMS be like
>Herp derp you did not watch it
They sure did if they know about the dead corpse thing, and point it out.
Its literally a clickbait channel that throws out similarities between movies without having a opinion and baits viewers into writing comments without presenting a opinion of their own.

Fair enough. If the position is that Disney is a dick for sending the cease and desist then I have no problem. I've seen both of those videos prior to YMS and came out with the impression that Disney completely plagiarize the IP and is now trying to hide it, but I feel if anything it's just inspired (Although I know Disney has no problem with plagiarizing shit).
Easton Green
I find both investigation valids, but YMS's video feels like his sarcastic humor was the selling point of his narrative than his actual his explanation. I do find he is right about both films started out independently within its own conception, however; it is obvious that Disney DID copied Kimba's motif in certain scenes, if not took some inspiration of the film but not the story (without crediting them.)
YMS guy and his followers are just another bunch of sensationalist bandwagoner who get excited over a skewed perception because it's going against what's popular.
