>Isekai
ohh yes... shit. is there even one good Isekai?

Rezero

They make so many you'd have to like at least one

Re:Zero is boring, cryporn, bad characters, repetitive, nonsensical, predictable, too many contrivances, bad fights

How many of those are actual genres?

slice of life and comedy

youjo senki. only commies disagrees

Shield Hero

The author is literally a commie.

Log horizon
re zero
vison of escaflown

there is a lot of good isekai.

divine comedy, but is self insert.

people often talk shit about isekai genre but it's actually the harem that's killing shows.

Alice in wonderland

one of those is not like the others

yeah re zero is the only one that is actually good

Re:Zero might be an isekai, but the fact that it is one doesn't even matter
anyways what do you even think is so good about it?

There is one that I like but I'm not allowed to talk about it here.

>what do you even think is so good about it?
It was interesting enough for me to watch all episodes

it have a thick plot

doesn't make a show good

Konosuba and Bakarina

it's good enough for me

>nonsensical, predictable

Way to contradict your own criticism you buzzword spamming moron.

not liking whole genres doesn't make any sense

Anything can be a genre if it enough things fit the same description to invoke a practical need for categorization.

the plot is predictable in that it repeats the same arc three times and no one can die because he can just reset everything
not to mention this is a show that came out after steins;gate and a million other time travel movies

what's nonsensical is Rem turning into a submissive moe girl who cries during a conversation about asking for help and working together after previously brutally murdering Subaru because she didnt trust him..that much

Doesn't make sense that Subaru turns into a genius that's capable of doing anything all of a sudden because of a little piece of info or a little pep talk

isekai and harem is a trope not a genre, never will be a genre

Something is seething and its not the tea.

the main characters power was unique and interesting. He couldn't just murder everyone with crazy powers like most isekais, he had to keep trying and figure out the correct path.

The girls were fun and cute with strong design but not just sex objects. The character development was alright and mixed with the return by death it was more interesting since characters could undevelop.

They were able to have more high impact scenes since they could just kill characters at will and then go back.

It was just a generic, ok isekai, but the power was unique and made all aspects of the generic isekai more interesting, elevating it to the status of a good show.

Rem is an emotionally stunted child from years of trauma with extremely low self esteem and an obsessive personality. She didn’t suddenly become a “submissive moe”, she was already completely submissive to her sister. The idol of her obsession simply got transferred to Subaru instead of Ram after he appeared like an infallible superhero right in front of her.

And Subaru never ever becomes a genius in any part of the story. He gets lucky a bunch particularly early on, which successfully fools the people around him, the audience, AND himself that he’s some sort of genius just because his unfounded confidence yields good results, and THAT’S exactly the reason why the first 3 arcs seem repetitive. Subaru never truly recognizes that his situation is not a fairytale anime until the 3rd arc. He was just getting lucky.

>had to keep trying to figure out correct path
>unique power
dark souls
most video games

the fact that his power triggers when he dies doesn't make that much of a difference, whats the difference of going back in time to reverse a friends death through intentional time travelling like in steins gate and being forced to go back in time through contrivances and happenstance

the problem with him going back in time to choose different paths is that they fhey force us to watch the same or similar scenes over and over again, making for a monotonous experience, when all they had to do was use the many various methods of cutting and fast forwarding to not mkae the audience suffer

none of the fights pass mmediocre and actually the fights may be "brutal" (to you), but they don't have any substance because there's never any consequences

>it was a generic, ok isekai, but power was unique so it's a good show
a show doesnt go from good or bad just because of a power gimmick
