Redpill me on this show. Is it cringe otome shit or is it actually good? I might drop Twelve Kingdoms for this. It looks like an upgrade.
Akatsuki no Yona
I liked it but be forewarned it's a very incomplete adaptation.
In what way? I always read the manga after if the adaptation is unfinished but if it skips chapters then that’s an issue.
Main girl is voiced by Chiwa Saito.
It only adapted the first arc I think, the manga is like 6-8 arcs in. It's a decent adaptation, nothing special, might as well just read the manga. The manga imo is pretty good, the universe expands as the story progresses and I think the characters are interesting enough and pretty likable, Yona actually does stuff, but I don't think the anime shows it.
It's pretty interesting. One of the rare few that did what if the usurper is actually a good king?
How's the manga going? I stopped following it around the time mangastream died.
decent but got reverse-harem-y for a while. i'm only interested in the yona/hak/soowon drama.
The villains are great
Soowon did nothing wrong
It's good if you want some proper fantasy adventure
he did, though. he should have just married yona and had the king bumped off more secretly.
It's kind of cringy. It has bad, childish shounen/fujoshi humour, and is heavy on the fanservice.
Dropping Twelve Kingdoms for this would be a huge downgrade. Although, they are quite different.
It's okay, though.
Based, he was mature enough to clean up both his retarded father's and uncle's messes
It's pretty good. The OVAs with the yellow dragon unironically made me cry. Plus Chiwa Saito.
I watched quite a few of this, I dont remember but over 10 eps.
In the end, I can barely remember anything, but I recall that I was not enjoying it very much. I just couldnt care less for any of the characters.
Zeno best boy
I can handle cringe pretty well. Twelve Kingdoms is kinda cringe too. I’ll probably watch like a dozen eps of Akatsuki no Yona then go back to Twelve Kingdoms if nothing happens.
I liked it.
why didnt we get a second season, bros?
It has otome elements but it's actually good. Her growth was fantastic, from useless to competent. She's also very brave.
>heavy on the fanservice
Huh? What fanservice?
That's barely like prologue for yona
S2 when
Read the manga.
Best shojo manga ever probably. The anime adaptation is good. Season 2 never.
I remember watching a few episodes and the tone and characters just felt way too generic-shoujo-y for me. I'm not even a big Twelve Kingdoms fan but you're better off sticking to that.
>generic-shoujo-y
>yona
No user, You just got filtered by early episodes
I doubt the feeling I got from it would change no matter what direction the plot itself went, honestly.
