Do you still enjoy anime or do you just watch out of habit?
I've been down-shifting my viewing habits for a year now, and every season I check the catalogue it seems there's nothing worth watching so I don't feel compelled to pick anything up.

I still enjoy anime, but it's getting harder to find great anime that I haven't seen that also matches my taste. For example, I'll probably never have an experience like watching Serial Experiments Lain or Evangelion for the first time again unless something that good gets made today. Basically I'm running out of classics and likely will reach a point where I just watch a handful of anime each year while rewatching favourites from time to time.
I'm down to one anime per season. Without Zig Forums to make me laugh, i'd watch even less.
I LOVE YOU IKA CHAN
i usually watch old or very old anime if everything sucks.
or i switch to manga only for a year and then come back to anime and my interest is renewed again.
the cycle video-games + anime video-games + manga works great, and when you're feeling shit, drawing stuffs for yourself or for anons.
Killing time as much as possible user. But i hope i can enjoy anime as much as i enjoyed it 4 years ago
I enjoy. Just watch less. But most of Zig Forums are sure not. That's why 90% of anime discussions are about animation, direction quality, meta, production and other visual things.
I enjoyed the better quality shows I watched but I've probably seen most of those by now. Half the shows I watched out of boredom and a retarded completionist urge, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone because the best they had to offer was some fan service and goofy engrish.
That's because the story is usually retarded so there's not much else to talk about besides shitposting.
>That's because the story is usually retarded
That's literally all anime. Even your favorite shows are like this. The difference is that back in old days you was young and anime was so interesting for you. So much that you watched entire season in one go. Or downloading show for weeks on 4kb/s speed.
I haven't bothered to watch anything from my backlog in a year and I watch less seasonal anime than I ever did. Most of the stuff I end up watching is picked up on a whim after seeing a thread here. Meanwhile, I'm constantly picking up new manga, makes me think that all the posts i saw calling manga superior to anime that I dismissed back then are actually correct.
I don't think it's my fault,I just don't see that many good shows coming out,I don't like slice of life and it seems like that's most.
pretty much my life right now
go back
i never left
I watch because I enjoy it. I will watch at the max one full episode and one 3 minute episode per day. I also intentionally never watch anything from the current season. I have noticed that my backlog is growing at a slower rate
I think that’s the case with most people, where there’s a lot of shit anime and a few good ones that come out each year and ppl just end up rewatching the ones the like
It's just kind of a trap, really. There's a handful of standout shit that enthralls you the first time you see it, and a decent selection of 'pretty good', which you'll inevitably burn through once the medium has its hooks into you, then you're just looking for the newest thing that might just be 'okay', because there's nothing left.
I still enjoy it as much as ever, what the fuck is with all the negativism ITT?
At this point I’m just slowly making my way through my backlog trying to find something I can find enjoyment from again. I go long periods of time feeling like I’ve seen everything worthwhile, but I always tend to find something that breaks that mindset right when I’m about to quit for good. Currently watching the 2004 Gigantor remake and it’s solid.
They don't make good anime anymore
>what the fuck is with all the negativism ITT?
mature anime watchers with 100 titles
Must be nice being new.
Been here since '09, still don't get the negativism.
Why are you keep reposting this? We had them every year before election. Should I start doing same reasons pic for 2021?
You just described me for the last 8 or so years. Just recently i decided to chill a bit and started watching anime I think make for good shows I missed out starring with all the stuff KyoAni has made that I haven't checked out yet. So far I'm having a blast.
much less good anime per season
After becoming a seiyuufag I began to watch less and less. Around 2011-2012 I watched 20-40 shows every season, but now I barely watch one. Listening to webradios while playing random games is so much easier than keeping up with all airing series.
Portable loli for on-the-go onnahole
I haven't watched anime for years
