This is so stupid. Afo was never portrayed as pressuring shigaraki or telling him what to do and actively trained him to think for himself. What is he even rejecting? All afo ever wanted him to do was kill all might and cause terror, is he not going to do that now? If hori was going to write shigaraki rejecting afo why not write it as a cool climax later on, like shigaraki meets afo again but reveals he figured out afo planted his quirk or something and kills him, thereby succeeding him. Instead he "rejects" afo spirit right when he wakes up.
