I never got the love for 2.0 on Zig Forums. It felt like dumb TTGL shit with everything becoming a generic Shonen and Asuka's personality getting flanderized. Guess the Reifags don't care about any of that, all they saw was the promise of Rei winning the Shinjibowl
1.0 is dull too, it's inferior to just watching the episodes it covers, since so much detail is cut out

the rebuilds are literally the opposite of eva

1.0 is the most like eva because its close to the original in what happens but still not good in some subtle ways, but could have been good if the next ones were

3.0 is just a plain bad movie in so many ways
Nge and Eoe are great in so many ways

ttgl is actually pretty good

maybe its slightly more rule of cool, but its story isnt neccessarily shallow if you look deeper

I'm not saying I like 2.0, I'm just saying that 1.0 and 2.0 put 3.0 in a certain context, because it's a sequel to them. And in that context, 3.0 makes no fucking sense.
After Sadamoto's manga I've learned to selectively cherish moments where Rei is happy and discard the rest

1.0 showed just enough promise of change that it was not a total waste of time. Like you could glimpse the snowball on the hilltop. I agree with you about 2.0.

Ramiel looked like a CGI mess. I never thought it being immobile was lame in the original, so I also don't see the appeal of it warping and becoming fractal in Rebuild
