Does One Piece have a clustered panelling problem?

Only in spreads like this one. A page is usually fine by its self.

"No"

Why didn't Izo just go back to Wano after Whitebeard died? Where the fuck else would he have been for the last two years?

Helping out the Whitebeard remnants in their time of need. It would have been a way bigger dick move while the crew was getting ass blasted on all sides by rivals for him to just bail.

See One Piece really should have a clustered page problem, and it does look that way at first glance, but the reason I think it doesn’t is because these pages really do flow really well..OP excels at making you feel multiple emotions in a single page or double spread, and it’s a lot harder to do that with more limited amounts of panels.

Better than a clustered wording problem.

Cont...

I also think by this point it’s Oda’s style that he cultivated on his own over the years..you’ll see the earlier volumes are a lot cleaner looking and as the story progresses the pages become more crowded almost at the same rate the reader is having light being shed onto the world the story is taking place in.

I think if this “problem” was remedied it’d simply feel like a different manga for a long while till we inevitably got used to it.

Let me take this moment to theorize that maybe as the story starts condensing itself back down as the endgame comes around, those chapters will have much cleaner and simple paneling and art to match the larger and more broad scale of the story kind of like Berserk does in its most important moments.

Yes, it became a problem when arcs started having a shit ton of people fighting at the same time.

Yes.

Its a problem now because of the constant breaks, and the fact that he still draws everything by hand like a boomer.

Oda should take some notes from Togashi and stop drawing stuff in has panels! Would make focusing on paneling a lot easier.

This. Togashi's paneling is clear and among the best in the industry.

Nice joke.
Toriyama is the GOAT because his shit flows smoothly without cringe crowding

If it wasnt this compressed we'd be at Wano for a decade.

I was being Facetious with thisOf course I was poking fun at HxH. Taking it seriously just goes to show how delusional hunterfags are in their praise for Togashi's paneling when it's ony duel to laziness. It's easy to do paneling when you don't have any art.

Those panels are the only times when One Piece really shines, I'm pretty sure that Oda was inspired by the great Tony Wolf

Still don't understand why doesn't he just write a script and get some no-name emerging artist to draw for him. This nigga has more words than strokes in his manga anyway.

mangakas are fucking weird, just look at miura or inoue basically doing nothing for months and starting new mangas just to leave them on hiatus too

so you prefered if this single image took a whole chapter because you are too stupid?

But only Marineford and Wano are the big fighting arcs.

You mean like most mangaka?

at that point why not read a book?

Eh i kinda like that dense pages!
Some clean pages would be nice though.

t. has never read hxh

I dont read canceled manga

Remember when One Piece used to have kino spreads like pic related? I sure do

i only remember 3 or 4 good ones on the whole manga

this looks gory and cool, what's the name of the manga? i have a 14 year old nephew that might like it

yes
why is this even a question?

imagine having a nephew smarter than you
it must suck to be a manchild

fair point
