The Tolkein of manga

The Tolkein of manga.

Wrong, there is no Tolekein of manga because chinese comic books for high schoolers will never be as good as actual literature.

King of the Rings or whatever it is called sucks dick, literally shounenshit in book form with all of its tropes.
Power of friendship and erotic oji-san trainer (grand elf or whatever his name is).
Comic relief character (Seagle) to """LIGHTEN THE MOOD" so stuff doesn't get too serious.
The generic protagonist Frodo, who is basically a Goku 2.0 (I WANT TO EAT FOOD AND HELP MY FRIENDS AND FIGHT STRONG GUYS)
It's shit.

Fucking island genes and snaggleteeth meng.

who cares

I’ve only seen an interview of his where he recently said One Piece is ending in the next five years.

Does anyone have any interviews of him from the 90’s or 2000’s?

More like the G.R.R.M of manga, because he's a talentless fucking hack.

wtf are his teeths nigga

Nips have worse teeth than Bongs.

>new bad
>old good
Every time.

It actually kind of fits. The later ASOIAF books were way too padded out, often focusing on way too many characters that no one gave a fuck about, and focusing less on the characters why people started reading the books in the first place.

Just like modern Wan Piss

The Onsen flashback is Fire & Blood. Drawn out forever and uninteresting.

mangabros.... the /lit/CHADS are making fun of us again!!!

Zig Forums Absolutely btfoed

Tolkien didn't drag his series out to the point of it being a soulless husk of it's former self

Are you imbeciles misspelling him on purpose or are you just that illiterate?

>imbeciles
>plural
OP was feeling lonely.

Tolkien created over twenty languages, nine scripts, just under one thousand named characters, and currently has between eight and nine thousand pages of published material. He did all this while working as a linguistics professor at Oxford.

I like Oda too but you cannot compare ANYONE to Tolkien (especially not that fat sack of shit GRRM).

Fucking harry potter could be considered literature. Even the most mediocre shounen is better than that. There are many manga on the same level if not better than LOTR, which has about the same demographic as shouneneshit as it is made for kids but can still be enjoyed by everyone.

what a disgustingly ugly subhuman

>Side characters bad
Do you think LOTR only consists of the trilogy?
The main cast in One Piece have been given more characterization and focus than the main cast in LOTR, they're mostly fully developed. Of course they're probably gonna get more focus in the arcs to come as well but there's nothing wrong with fleshing out the world in some arcs. The worldbuilding is a lot more complex post ts and oda has had a hard time striking a good balance and working out some kinks which was the primary issue with dressrosa but he did a lot better at balancing worldbuilding and side characters in whole cake, with the present strawhats getting great moments as well as great development for side characters as well. It's a work in progress.

One Piece is better tha LOTR but Tolkein will always be on a level of his own considering the languages he built. He made his entire world just for them.

Oda has more talent in one toe than G.R.RM has ever had.

Not to mention the work ethic

Yes, what's your point?
Neither has Oda, he's telling the story exactly like he wants, one could even say he's rushing even.
Tolkein never even got the chance to do everything he wanted. LOTR could be considered equivalent to just one big arc in One Piece, Tolkein planned to write a lot more.

More handsome than you will ever be. He's just old now.

The only actual characters in LotR, the only ones characterized, the characters the entire narrative solely focuses on are the four hobbits. Everyone else seems distant because they're legendary heroes and they're not supposed to be relatable. The hobbits are relatable, they guide the reader through the story.

I just wanted to say The Hobbit is not that good.
Maybe it was groundbreaking for it's time but it has hardly held up at all. The world building is not that good, which is a shame because it was a genuinely interesting world when it was explored, character development is non-existent with the characters being one dimensional. Despite their being 10 people that go in the quest, only like 3-4 are relevant and we hardly get to know anything about them at all. There are next to no side characters. We found out next to nothing about the wood elves, when we go to the human village we don't even meet a named human character I think. And the climax of the story, the great war, introduces characters we didn't know before and quickly ends in like 2 pages with hardly any aspect of the war being explored.
We do see Bilbo change as a character, but considering how we barely knew him at all the change isn't as impactful as it could've been. The same is true for the characters that died. Again, we barely knew them so it's hard to care that they died.

Seriously, it's a 7/10. And that's being generous. Why does it get so much praise? I just don't see it.

What about Bromir ?

Thisa, Odafags are delusional

Nah, literally a chimp

He's still a legendary hero who succumbed one time to hopelessness before redeeming himself. He's not grey like Hackson made him.

the post that DESTROYED Zig Forumsnime....

7/10 is about right I guess

It's a fun, fantasy adventure romp.

It has pretty good prose though.

Malazan besto btw

bbbut when he was a kid, GRRM made up stories about how his turtles wanted to kill one another

why aren't you impressed
