A whole decade of anime directors still living behind Steins Gates humongous shadow

>A whole decade of anime directors still living behind Steins Gates humongous shadow.
I swear on every rewatch, I find something new that impresses me. The amount of effort put into tone setting through sound and visuals is a nice change of pace, it's a shame majority of anime hasn't learned from S;G and still thinks it's okay to tell it's audience everything with insulting info dumps instead of SHOWING us.

If S;G's shadow is humongous, how big is Madoka's?

I can´t believe it´s been 10 years already...

>Show don't tell
This, it's why you see a lot of stupid people saying "it doesn't get good until you're a few episodes in" most of those people definitely hated the lack of spoon-feeding. Maybe they hated how the characters act like actual human beings instead of "'funny"" anime stereotypes like wtf why isn't that short girl kicking the MC in the nuts?!?

S;G is unironically AOTD
Its complex yet popular, it has something for every audience

Madoka is a sun, so it doesn't count.

Nope, not with that video game tier narrative structure. VN on the other hand... Close to flawless.

the vn is better

No one ever says otherwise, it's just funny how Zig Forums likes to laugh at people who call the adaptation a masterpiece.

humvee scratch a bumvee what in Kami's world did he mean by this (o_O) ??

>S;G was unironically AOTD.
That's true

Madoka is honestly underrated, it makes me sad.

and nothing has come close to the greatness of Steins Gate. Sad!

That's just Hamasaki's directing though, Steins;Gate is only as good as it is because it was also a good story already. If you give Hamasaki a shitty script or an imploding production even Hamasaki can't carry it, see: Orange and Mugen no Juunin.

>the characters act like actual human beings instead of "'funny"" anime stereotypes
They still act like anime stereotypes. It's not as bad as some series, but it's still very obvious. And the romance between Okabe and Kurisu starts out pretty forced and doesn't really go anywhere satisfying.

>Act like normal people instead of stereotypes
What the fuck am I reading?

Kirusu and Okabe were a bad couple until the end, and Mayushi is a stereotype on her own. The only redeeming characters was the cat girl in zero playing adventure capitalist with Akihabra

I haven't seen Madoka so I can't make any statements about its quality but I have heard literal tons of people say its the best shit in the world, even normalfags love it. Is it really so good that it needs more recognition?

Don’t you think it’s time you grew up?

Mostly the only people still talking about that show is its cult following. Normies nowadays don't want to seek out shows from years back, especially if its about magical girls. I saw Madoka before S;G and I was sorely disappointed as I didn't feel the same thrill as I did with Madoka. I think S;G cannot hold a candle to it.

Based

Moderately-sized, and for the wrong reasons. The only impact it made on the industry was the weird psychobabble shit in the witch dimensions and some minor headway into mahou shoujo fight direction. Not like the director could do much with such a mediocre narrative anyways

I just can't stand Houdini's voice actor. He was good in Zombieland Saga, though.

i know this is prob a bait thread but i think it's a good show. sue me. felt iffy on the harem undertones/slowness at the start but that's just me.

No. Madoka is mediocre outside of the visuals.

Shit was boooooring as fuck, kys.

This
Not him but yeah, kind of fucked up only people I see talking about it are the ones who first watched and fell in love with it while first aired. It deserves a bigger following than... Cowboy Bepop..SAO.. rezero.. I could go on. Normalfags are all over anime now and you don't see Madoka getting love from them EVER.
This just isn't true at all, they had a interesting and cute dynamic from the moment they met.

I must be the only person who preferred the anime over the VN. I think that both versions are decent but overrated, however the anime has the advantage of good directing in a few of the episodes, notably the first and last few. I'd say that the anime starts off incredibly strong but plummets in quality.

I thought it was a pretty good show but the utter praise for it is weird. I suspect the praise come from people who never watched a lot of hard scifi in their life, especially those who watched it years ago in their teens and still cling to the nostalgia.

>Plummets in quality
When?

Yeah, the pilot episode was awesome. He should've done more scenes?

Stupid cute mayushi
