ITT: characters that have sex

Why is sex such a taboo to show/talk about in most anime?
Why did this fucking furry anime actually be the first one I've seen to portray it so casually?
What other anime does this?

Japan is an extraordinarily sexless country.

i mean, on the surface maybe.
but don't they have a huge love hotel industry, sex shops, etc...?
it's just people don't like to talk about it, right?

>Why is sex such a taboo to show/talk about in most anime?
Because for some reason autistic purityfags can't stand the thought of a fictional (female) character having fictional sex. Also, if it's revealed that there's even the slightest possibility that their waifu had consensual sex with someone other than their self-insert, they will immediately go full meltdown mode, sending death threats and reeeing all over the place. Also the publisher/studio/license holders will no longer be able to rake in the autism bux, which is the most important part.

>Why is sex such a taboo to show/talk about
Because Japanese are Americaboos, and they took their values from there
If after the war they were occupied by the French or Germans, nobody would give a shit

god i hate that i love anime because i fucking hate that this is the state of it

i mean, hyper religious shit aside, american media doesn't seem to have a problem with sex like anime does

Media that are specifically adult-only (or at least R-rated)
If you look at stuff made for the same demographics as what's on Zig Forums, you'd find it's very similar - YA sometimes talks about sex and so does seinen, and shounen and its equivalent at their riskiest show (implied) intercourse, but don't talk about it too much
in fact, I'd say Zig Forums stuff has regressed from over a decade ago, and nowadays a sex scene between teenagers (like the one in Infinite Crisis) in a big two comic would bring a huge outcry

>Imagine simping for fictional women
>Imagine being satasified with just fantasies of a pretend relationship
>Imagine having no quams of looking at porn made by other men of your 'waifu' and unknowingly ntring yourself
Waifufags aren't even human let alone men.

hmm it really is hard to compare anime to the average Zig Forums cartoon, though.
most Zig Forums stuff is solely made with children as the demographic as i feel most anime is made with teens + adults in mind.
i guess it just feels like whenever sex is mentioned in anime it revolves around the whole 'purity' thing too much
ie, female characters feeling ashamed that they aren't virgins
if that makes sense?

to add on to this, first loves seem to be a big thing in anime too.
if anime was real life, everyone would be with their high school partner for life.

me
not you

This is definitely not how most people feel but I personally like that anime is shy about sex. I don't actually like hearing about sex. Every other form of media is obsessed with talking about sex and anime feels like a way to escape from that a little for me.

I still want sex and enjoy sex like everyone who isn't asexual. I also don't sperg out over female characters having sex. I just want to escape from that part of myself sometimes.

Furry shit

what's the story behind that picture?

It isn't even just about sex. Anime has this weird display of romantic relationships in general. In 99% of cases anime romance means getting a confession or a kiss after 800 chapters, or there is a final chapter timeskip where literally everyone suddenly has a relationship and all of these relationships are between named characters.

To me anime that just ignore sex and romance are fine. But too many of them have constant sexual situations, teasing and characters with very clear interest in romance yet it never goes anywhere. And that just breaks my immersion.

Character has boyfriend

>Why is sex such a taboo to show/talk about in most anime?
How often do you talk about sex with your coworkers and friends?

perhaps it's a good thing that kind of person won't ever have a girlfriend. Damn

i agree with your point, actually. i personally hate fanservice most of the time or when things are too oversexualized. i actually liked how beastars portrayed sex a lot because of this.
my problem with anime is that it seems to be a taboo most of the time, and purity is put on a pedestal, if that makes sense.
ie, one girl is seen as a slut bc she had sex ONE time (or god forbid, she's a slut bc she was raped)
it just is hard not to roll my eyes at
i'd rather have sex not even brought up than have it be done for fanservice purposes either.

Often because most of my friends and coworkers are male. I know women like to gossip about their relationships just as much.

Kare Kano handled it pretty well. Two kids in love eventually start having sex and it really isn't mentioned too much after that. Too bad the rest of the manga went off the fucking rails.

how is this relevant lol? anime is not just characters talking about things, it's characters in intimate situations, characters thoughts, etc...

>But too many of them have constant sexual situations, teasing and characters with very clear interest in romance yet it never goes anywhere. And that just breaks my immersion.
this user gets it

>Kare Kano
is this the one anno directed? i keep forgetting to add this to my watchlist

I completely agree about the pedestal thing. I definitely don't like that either. I think I like it best when the characters don't see it as a big deal but also just don't talk about it much.

Anime is the sort of "hobby" that falls into the "at least it's better than suicide/shooting up the school or workplace/building roadside bombs" category. It's essentially self-sedation to survive incredible amounts of idle time for young men so atomized they don't even have the minimum social circle necessary for access to drugs.
A good job, a loving partner, a family, a house, savings, travel, retirement; autistic losers like me can't have any of these things. Depicting sex in escapist media shatters the illusion, reminding otaku of what they'll never have and of how fucked up and unlovable they are. Just keep it out, please.

I think that's just a you problem buddy.

If this was true then having relationships at all would "shatter the illusion". Your take doesn't really make any sense.

Also shoujo manga is shy about sex as well.

It does, which is why I rarely watch romance.
And when I do the urge to kill myself gets stronger for a little while.

I'm not speaking for all consumers of anime, just a subset/demographic.

yes, thanks. i just want characters to have sex more casually. even if it's as simple as showing two characters who are dating waking up together or something.

Sounds like you'd probably like touhou. That's full of megaautists with a sexuality phobia.

I've got a living wife, a career, and my own place but can't get into anime romance since all of it falls under unrealistic harem / eternal cockblocking bullshit,

this is really sad to hear, user. you can have some of those things, but we are all cucked out of any financial stability unfortunately.

however, i don't think media should censor itself to pander to fans who feel this way. of course, there will always be cgdct, slice of life, moe animes for you to consume. but i think it's just strange that anime as a whole treats sex as such a taboo/big deal.

>I've got a living wife
I think you mean "loving" right?

>was revealed that female lead had an ex-boyfriend
>people speculated that she may have fucked him
>a bunch of Japanese putityfags raged and sent hate mail/death-threats to the author

even her husband's classmate had sex

Attached: yue-76475.jpg (350x490, 33.86K)

holy fucking kek
so it was never even confirmed if she fucked her ex??

>i don't think media should censor itself to pander to fans who feel this way
Media like any business optimizes itself for maximum profit, and in current reality maximum profit for anime and manga would be to cater to autistic otaku.

but why did no one become assmad when Jesus took everything from Shin?

It's even worse than that. The female character in question is a long living spirit thing, so her having a boyfriend was decades or even centuries before the current events of the story. And yet it was enough to trigger some people.

:(
you're right. i just hate how this is the culture of my favourite medium.
i just love anime aesthetic, man. i just want grounded stories and characters once in awhile.
