There's no way to measure "mainstreamness" but I dislike "fans" of anything that goes past stuff like mob psycho and monogatari on my popularity scale. That area where the anime/manga is extremely popular amongst people who are deep in the community but unkown amongst the normies is as much as I can tolerate.
