Without Christianity and its principles, we wouldn't have our modern (almost universally accepted) judiciary systems. We wouldn't have republics nor modern states. Christianity is the least consistent religion in the world and functions as a catch all social control than a solid set of dogma. As I've said the dogma of judaism and islam is much stronger and people's adherance much more encouraged. Christianity is equivalent to the hittite relgion where they just added in whichever local God they found so as to pacify the new settlement.
There is no principle as it has no consistent values and never has for any significant stretch of time.
