Oh wow this manga referenced surface level stuff from the Bible it’s so deep
Oh wow this manga referenced surface level stuff from the Bible it’s so deep
>this manga referenced surface level stuff from the Bible
Every battle shounen
wtf is that thing supposed to be?
Fucking bible is fake, anyway.
So is greek mythology (and the rest), doesn't stop people from thinking it's deep.
Oh wow I can be a smartass about something everyone already acknowledges I'm so deep
>anti-christian viewpoint
>looks at OP pic
What are the odds?
When did u say I was anti Christian:/
>Judging an anime's quality by its symbolism and themes rather than it's animation, voice acting, cinematography, editing, or narrative.
Keep being a pleb. I bet your favorite anime is Ergo Proxy or some Yuasa shit.
>surface level
I don't know. Most nip creators seem to know more about actual canon than amerilards. All the use of seraphic lore and shit isn't something you see often in modern day adherents, even the muslims.
>>anti-christian viewpoint
It's pro-Christian if anything, "thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain" or something like that.
>so is greek mythology
Wrong. Homer's stories were basically true. The bible is fake because it's jewish fanfiction based on babylonian which was based on sumerian.
Never forget.
Many biblical stories get fleshed out and contextualised in their original tellings and make much more sense. The bible and by extension anything associated with judaism is bullshit. All other religion has plausibility insofar as it cannot be completely disproven in the same way abrahamic religion can be.
>Homer's stories were basically true
Oh no it's retarded
>everyone in history acknowledges the trojan wars
>fuck wit contemporaries deny it but even worse deny the entire civilisation ever existed
>acheologists confirm it
>linguists confirm it
No, user, you're retarded. I take great pleasure in the knowledge that I'm better than you and that most people think like you.
>New Testament
even Jesus cringed
>judging a sacred book by its historical accuracy rather than the validity of its guidance.
Without Christianity and its principles, we wouldn't have our modern (almost universally accepted) judiciary systems. We wouldn't have republics nor modern states. The accumulation of wealth and reinvestment into the production of material goods with the sequential development of technology and continuous improvement of life quality a.k.a. "Capitalism" wouldn't have happened without Christianity (Weber, 1904).
Weber is wrong and Christianity doesn't have 'principles' as priciple is an essential reduction of a concept. Christianity shifts constantly in its dogma much moreso than Judaism or Islam it's sibling religions. I'm not even talking about the numerous cults and off shoots either but the development of christian theology is entirely inconsistent. What you attribute to one era of christianity cannot be said of another.
>historical accuracy
>"""sacred""" text
No I'm saying that it is, without doubt or confusion, a lie. A proven lie. Pagans, Hindus, Budhists, basically anyone else in existance, can assert that their belief is real and you can't prove otherwise but christianity and any other abrahamic belief can be.
Abrahamic religions are the sole example of all those in the world where you belief in them is objectively fucking wrong. If you continue to follow them you're a fucking idiot.
>"capitalism wouldn't have happened without Christianity"
Is Weber a kike? Because the peak of christian power had the practice of usury banned for all adhereants. As mentioned previously the 'values' of the church shift periodically so it is more accurate to say ALL of this would have happened without Christianity because indeed, Christianity is more effected by the European mindset than it was affecting it.
In short you a complete idiot and you parrot opinions on topics you know nothing about and expect people to think better of you for it.
The only religion that truly values freedom and the individual. The only religion that isn't grounded on imposing its beliefs, which is consistent with the first sentence.
>Because the peak of christian power had the practice of usury banned for all adhereants.
> I'm not even talking about the numerous cults and off shoots either but the development of christian theology is entirely inconsistent.
>Confusing a religious institution with the religion itself.
kek. I bet your next argument will be about how bad was the Spanish inquisition.
>Pagans, Hindus, Budhists can assert that their belief is real and you can't prove otherwise
OK, keep believing in the divinity of Marvel characters.
>The only religion that truly values freedom and the individual. The only religion that isn't grounded on imposing its beliefs
Ah so we're discussing budhism? Fuck you're retarded.
>dude other religions are silly
Sure. But they're impossible to disprove whereas Elohim isn't fucking real and we know this.
You genuinely have no idea what you're talking about. You lack understanding of christianity and it's development relative to the rest of europe. You lack understanding of other religions because you're a dipshit I suppose?
You've said nothing of value and have been proven wrong at every turn.
Just to add a bit it doesn't matter if Jesus or Moses are fictional characters, the dogma is still there and you can measure how successful a person that follows it can be. However, when you recognize that Vishu or Thor are fictional, you've nothing left.
>budhism
Keep rejecting material goods and pleasure. Oh wait, you can't. Just like those dumb monks.
This is kind of a bad opinion.
The most obvious answer, Eva, features kabbalism and early ***ish mysticism heavily in its plot and conclusion. The interview with anno is literally him just being a pretentious twat "oh did I do that? I wasn't even trying lmao".
Even for trash content like raildex the author has clearly read Crowley and various religious texts.
If you're referring to things like Gabriel Dropout I'd probably agree, though.
>this manga referencing stuff from the Holy Koran
Yeah, Eva was never good because of its symbolism, I wonder when did this meme begin. Also shit like Gabriel Dropout or P&S never tried to be "deep".
>y-you can't confuse a religion for its institution
>b-but the dogma
So not even the Christians can agree? Pathetic.
If we are to reduce the following of christ to a single example it would have to be the initial adherents who were associated with Yashua of Nazereth. Their rituals and culture is nothing like the dogma that the romans hijacked the religion into being.
The argument was started on the 'principles' of Christianity but what is principle to being a christian other than self-identification. I ask you both to answer that.
Christianity is the least consistent religion in the world and functions as a catch all social control than a solid set of dogma. As I've said the dogma of judaism and islam is much stronger and people's adherance much more encouraged. Christianity is equivalent to the hittite relgion where they just added in whichever local God they found so as to pacify the new settlement.
There is no principle as it has no consistent values and never has for any significant stretch of time.
>dude christianity values freedom and the individual
>not really budhism does
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE you can't adhear to their dogma properly so it doesn't count
Fucking hell you are genuinely loathsome.
Goblin Slayer?
This absolutely. Few westerners are familiar with any of the proper religious scriptures, even the ones associated with their beliefs and certainly not ones from other followings. Conversely japanese authors revel in even if only for its exotic nature and aesthetics. When push comes to shove they still know more on the topic than most posters in this thread.
You do know that character in OP is a literal demon worshiper, right?
>they just added
You can't just make the distinction between institution and belief, can you? Well, you obviously can't because your argument would be tarnished immediately.
>The interview with anno is literally him just being a pretentious twat "oh did I do that? I wasn't even trying lmao".
If you're referring to that image in which Anno says "I chose it because it sounded like complicated", he was answering questions from a class of elementary school children. Obviously, he dumbed it down for them.
You take great pleasure in being superior to a literal stranger on the internet? That's kinda sad, dude.
