Why do people act like naruto was all about down to earth ninja stuff when this is the first fucking thing you see in the show?

It was ninja stuff. Shit like nine tailed fox wasnt meant to be the norm. Thats why it attacking the village was a big deal.

They thought it was gonna be like low-grade superhumans doing karate on each other in living in a post-kaiju Tokyo, despite the fact that Godzilla was installed into the fucking main character in the first page/second of the shit

what the fuck is "down to earth ninja stuff"?

>it didnt become shit later on, it was always shit
the stuff naruto tards come up with do defend their shit.

Beeeecause it was that for like 40% of it. Honestly I don't give as much of a shit about that as some though.

The manga peaked when Pain nuked Konoha and went on an unchangeable trajectory downwards when he revived everyone

something more ANBU and less Avatar The Last Airbender

The Land of Waves arc was very explicit about how its a world full of child soldiers who enlisted for the job of killing people for money, and many of them had no chooce due to being kidnapped/groomed from birth due to the superpowers they were born with.
While it never truly betrayed that, the story continued to be about Naruto's determination to stick to his personal creed of breaking the cycle of hatred rather than contributing to it, the more mythic the story became and the more it focused on exceptionally evil ninja the more it detatched from the sobering anchor that reality for the average ninja is you are a war orphan who will murder a dozen other war orphans and get killed as a teenager in revenge for one of your victims and the only ones who survive to adulthood are the ones better at murder than everyone they face

Like, it became less about the very real horrors of war and became more about these epic grudge matches straight out of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in large part due to how well adjusted and not traumatized all of the "good guys" acted, where the only people who died are the ones who deserve it, with the small exception of Asuma and later Neji.
That's why Nagato ressurecting all of Konoha was the last straw for a lot of people. It would have been more impactful if Nagato's gravity nuke only killed 10% of Konoha but they stayed dead. I mean shit, if the early stuff was still meant to apply then by the time Naruto gets back from training with Jiraiya it'd be safe to say most of his peers have killed in cold blood at least one ninja from another village who was no different from Haku, just someone who wanted to fulfill their sense of loyalty and was far from the supervillains Akatsuki were. Yet it never got addressed

Tl;dr it started off with a strong War is Hell theme but kept watering it down in execution with the worst parts of war only being suffered in the backstories of older characters and never by the focal generation

what was Shukaku supposed to be before the whole Biju stuff was shoehorned into the story?

Boruto episode 155 was good
They send Genin to protect a company boss
The leaf police is a failure

fpbp

If you believe it

SASUKE IS REALLY COOL SAKURA THE BEATIFUL

very good post
have my upvote user

a mad, drunk priest sealed into a tea kettle, wasn't it?

Humans in godzilla are useless and weak though? I don't get your point

also retarded that naruto wasnt accepted as hokage after this arc since they spent the entire fucking story saying hokage is the strongest person in the village only to be literally beg for naruto to return during the pain arc but nope fuck that gonna give it to kakashi a literal simp that got killed ded and rezzed. Pretty retarded desufam

You are now reminded that Naruto was technically a Genin all the way up to the beginning of the World War arc

Those "down to earth" ninjas shat their bricks at just the sight of that huge fox.

Because the "down to earth ninja stuff" was more interesting. Early small scale arcs like Zabuza or Chuuni exam (hell, even the Sasuke retrieval arc) had characters working together, using their powers in different ways, taking advantage of their terrain to beat the enemies. Post time skip, it was just my jutsu does bigger fancier shit than your jutsu, which is just less interesting.

I hate alien elder god's plot

Possibly the best post on Naruto I've ever seen, Kishimoto had gold and somehow managed to turn it into shit like some messed up kind of alchemy.

Great post, I'd also add that the fights in that arc were for the most part different than those in the last arcs, the students were below their opponents in power and had to fight smart and deceive their opponent. That's not really the case when Naruto pulls nine-tails out of his ass, but even that came with a very real risk of getting took over.

And then being Hokage just ends up being a paperwork wageslave job.

Naruto not using his clones to make that shit super efficient is the most retarded thing ever.

Because it's watched by 12 year olds, the audience comprehension skills are bottom tier.

>physical manifestation of a natural disaster
japs do this all the time

>Naruto not using his clones to make that shit super efficient is the most retarded thing ever.
He can't make more than 3 clones before falling asleep, his stamina got a hard nerf due paperwork.

wasn't it some bullshit excuse that it was disrespectful to have clones do hokage work?

Avatar The Last Airbender did an amazing job combining martial arts with elemental magic, Naruto doesn't even do the elemental magic part well.

I've just seen the last episode of Shippuden, holy shit I'm crying.

It's bizarre because some of the jutsu can be really fucking cool and interesting but then elemental jutsu is so basic. I wish they spent more time on it initially in school

So it's an LA centered gang violence, poverty life hardships movie? Just several hundred hiurs longer with shitty giant cartoon animals?

Yeah, much of the jutsu didn't even have anything to do ninja abilities, especially with the power creep later on. At least all the early stuff required using the hand signs for the most part.

basedo

This is mainly why i think the story peaked with the pain arc. Seeing the villian throw all the self righteousness naruto in his face was so satisfying.
>my friends, my people, my village
And then when he confronts Naruto on how to solve the cycle of hatred and revenge he just has to solemnly admit he doesn't know.

Then sadly the mangaka copped out on actually answering that question and instead introduced a huge existential threat to the world that made them all band together, with everyone being too absolutely fucked to even consider war.

I would have much preferred that after the pain arc the leaf village becomes the underdog, with no mass resurrection bullshit, and has to deal with war with the other nations now that it has been dramatically weakened. Having to balance survival with the desire to stop the cycle.
