Yes, there were some changes, but I don't see why do you think that Baam is a simp in the adaptation(at least more than, arguably, in the original one towards Rachel) and how Androssi befriends everyone.
Androssi still tried to fail every other fisherman. It's clear that she is not a good person. She only friends with Baam and, arguably, Anak.
Baam tries to befriend everyone and mostly succeeds, just like in the manhwa.
Having said that, I do think that a lot of characterisation was compromised compared to the manhwa, Baam included.
